It would be interesting to talk to Joel and Marty about the relationship with the Baldwin Auto Dealership.
They worked together to sell the SS427 cars but at the same time Baldwin sold their own SS350 SS396 and Z/28 cars. Baldwin also had a parts department that sold hi po parts. They didn't do a lot of national advertising like Motion did. Baldwin Chevrolet and Motion Performance were both painted on the drag cars as sponsors Baldwin may have just sold the COPO 427 cars on their own. |

what did you find to say it was a 427 COPO
I believe both of these photos are the Motion demo and Brooklyn Heavy Wild Pumpkin it has the SS emblems in the photos |
I read what it says on the Firewall.

I've found the missing puzzle pieces.
Its the Brahms Chevrolet Camaro that Dave Belk had. |
'
Which :hmmm:ne, 9N550532 as this thread? https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?p=983341 :beers: ~ Pete . |

I cant take the credit that I found out it was the same car.
Dan Palchanes found the pieces before he disappeared |
did they get the NCRS shipping data report on it?
|
No luck with NCRS and NICB.
We have talked about this Camaro for 10+ years JoeC. My user name on Team Camaro is Nikke |

was this the car that was thought to be the Tiretown Rat?
|
I thought it could have been many cars over the years. I didnt think that cars were repainted when they were new. Replaced gearboxes aso. Also, this case with Brahms Chevrolet has been disruptive.
Someone assumed it was written Chevy by Bramhs on the rear Quarter in gold text. |

here is an old thread on it
https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=135926 I think Brooklyn Heavy had two different 69 Camaros The 1st gen Camaro had a resurgence as a race car in the mid to late 70s so there were new race cars built using the 1st gen Camaro instead of the 2nd gen going by the wheels , I think this 69 was a later build then the orange car do you have a pic of your trim tag? |

Its the same Camaro.
They removed the Rally Sport stuff and made it Standard Camaro for 71 season. Also on this Picture on the Quarter "Pats Speed Center". Thats what was assumed to be the gold text " Chevy by Brahms". Later it was Painted in same scheme as the Challenger and Duster |
I'm confused, maybe.
9N580532 is the Brahms car. It is an X22 SS396 car. Carleen is saying that the "Speed Shop" RS and the Brooklyn Heavy (white with red blocks) are the same car? Is it also the Motion demo and Brooklyn Heavy Wild Pumpkin (J&L) with SS markings? |

he has something interesting but I'm not sure what it is.
I don't know if the Brooklyn Heavy (white with red blocks) Camaro is the same car as the Motion demo and Brooklyn Heavy Wild Pumpkin I say this because Brooklyn Heavy had a 2nd gen Camaro race car before the (white with red blocks) Camaro (I think) also the (white with red blocks) Camaro picture looks like mid 1970s era set up 69 Camaro. The 69 Camaro body became a popular build in the mid 1970s for some drag classes an example is the Motion red white blue Camaro from mid 1970s Brooklyn Heavy had a lot of cars in the 1970's and maybe he saved or bought back his 69 Camaro but maybe he bought another 69 race car |
appreciate the input. definitely an interesting camaro. i did notice one baldwin listing in the registry and it is in the same vin range but later. i will try to verify the date on the fan motor and provide an update. thanks again

I came in contact with a Guy on facebook from Novia Scotia named Leo.
He had some pictures and info about Motion COPOs. Bob Mcdonalds Chevrolet RS COPO 69 Camaro in Nova Scotia, Canada...that came of Motion Perf & was delivered by Joel himself & a 69 COPO Chevelle...both cars where delivered to Bob McDonald's Chevrolet Dealership & raced by Gil Trembley from Moncton NB |

Ronnie didn't like the stinger hood so it got changed to a scooped hood . It was a Motion Supercar . 427/450 hp and turned 10.91 with Joel Rosen at the wheel at Drag City upon delivery on an open trailer from NY . . Ronnie turned 11.31 same day same car . |

Found some more about the Chevelle
Has all the documentation Permts , Letter from Joel Rosen / Motion letterhead etc etc Motion Perf added rear air bags , 50/50 rear 90/10 front shocks , headers , traction bars , MSD ignition , cool can , dyno tuned engine , re- jetted Holley carb , different cam & lifters , roller rockers , etc etc . Arrived in Halifax ready to race same as any Motion car shipped COPO built in Oshawa , dropped shipped to Motion ,trailered to Halifax by Joel Rosen and Joel Black ( Black Max funny car ) . Gil drove it several weeks sponsored by Bob McDonald Speed Shop but was disgualified due to 300 deluxe interior & SS exterior trim . As Hi Performance manager / Speed Shop manager , I bought the car and Gil's got a 427 COPO / Motion Maroon Camaro to race . It arrived from Motion like that except the Ss427 grille emblem that came off a full sized Impala SS427 in the new car stock and was cut to fit grille moulding. . It had a blue bow tie crest for 300 deluxe . Gil wanted it changed so it was changed in the yard . . The wheel well mouldings etc and badges were on it from Motion . Possible that they were added in US . To my knowledge the rear SS emblem was factory . The car has been disputed since it arrived in Canada in 1969 ? It was a real hassle to get Reg. Of . Motor Vehicles to register it as non commercial ( passenger) vehicle due to being listed for commercial use only . That's what I recall . Car sat for months without plates and letters flying between GM and Bob McDonald to get it designated for passenger usage . Once we finally got it registered it was mid summer 69 . Its the one to the left |

If you have a laptop and a good Reading glasses, tilt the screen a little back so you can see that something is written under the paint. Note also the numbers below the Quarterside glass.

interesting cars and pictures
did they get the NCRS Shipping data and/or Canadian VVS report on the cars? It may not be on the Canadian VVS if it was brought in as a used car? I have not heard of COPO 427 Chevelles built in Canada but who knows. At one time it was thought all COPO 427 Chevelles were built in Baltimore but that turned out to be incorrect |
this thread has other cars from Bob McDonald Speed Shop
