How about code 34 Misty Turquoise?

luzl78 02-20-2019 06:44 PM

I like the turquoise colors. I really like 1968 island teal. I don’t think the misty would look good with the blue interior.

How about 1969 Dusk Blue?

WILMASBOYL78 02-21-2019 05:57 PM

Paint Job...

Dusk Blue is a good choice...or the 68 Fathom Blue. if you look at the 68 Gibb cars with the blue interior and FB exterior, it is a sharp combo.

Maybe even the 70 Fathom Blue which is a little brighter...

I am partial to white so I think white with the blue gut would look great.

I will have to second this. Very good friend of mine has a 70 Monte in Fathom blue, it is stunning.

I am gonna have Jason spray nocturne blue, laguna blue, and 68 fathom blue and compare.

----I have owned a 66 Laguna blue Corvette for 40 years and love the color. It has a slight purple twist to it depending on the light, but is still absolutely dark blue!...…Bill S

I'm slowly picking away at the panels. I repaired a couple of small spots on each door and got them into epoxy and high build primer. While the panels where drying I sand blasted both from fenders.

Salvatore 03-05-2019 12:30 PM

Looks real nice. Killer car when done!

I'm picking away at the Monte. The reassembly process has started. I did shoot some cards for Jeff to try and figure out what blue the car will be. Very happy with the panel gaps so far.

Looking great!

First round of overall blocking complete. Another coat of high build primer tomorrow. Once all the panels are to my satisfaction I will disassemble for final top coat. Jeff wants the front end all rebuilt so while I have it all apart I'm going to detail out the engine bay.

Been a busy month. The disassembling of the front end, degreasing and sand blasting all the small parts sure does take a lot of time. Epoxy primer was applied last night, top coat tonight.

The front end is all back together. I'm just waiting for the backing plates and caliper brackets from the platter. Power bucket seats have been installed. I applied some color this weekend. Medium blue to the interior and blacked out the rear tail panel like the 71 SS.

Body painted! I stretched my arms 2" to reach the center of the roof. Some big panels on this car. Used just about 1 1/2 gallons of base color and a little over a gallon of clear to cover all the panels.

Mr70 09-03-2019 12:37 PM

Beautiful.keep the pics coming Jason.

What paint system/brand did you use?

jasonL78 09-03-2019 03:05 PM

All PPG
Deltron 2000 for the base coat
Concept 2021 for the clear

What happened? It was hunting season LOL. I really don't work on my side work from October to Mid December. I actually just finished up wet sanding and buffing the body today. The motor is at the machine shop. The bumpers were delivered to the chrome shop. Time to start reassembling the door class and quarter glass power regulators. Waiting on the motor and six speed before I install the front sheet metal.

m22mike 12-31-2019 07:43 PM

Oh boy, that is nice and flat...

Yes I got a nice 4 pointer with the bow and passed on several smaller bucks with the gun. I did shoot a small button buck with a broken leg. Must have got hit by a car and would have never made it through the winter. My son shot a big doe and missed a decent buck. Lots of time in the woods to take it all in and enjoy gods country. Already looking forward to next season.

Its been a while since I posted any progress pictures. All the side glass weather striping door seals etc. are installed. The power windows are a challenge that's for sure. I have the side trim on the passenger side working on driver side now. All back tail panel trim tail lights all installed. Bumper brackets painted bumpers back from chrome shop. I spent the last couple of weeks getting the heater box an AC suitcase installed. The steering column is all detailed out and greased up waiting for assembly. I painted the steering column and A-pillars in the med blue with a matt clear. Match the original color perfect. I should have the motor in a week or so then onto assembling the driveline and installing it. She's coming back together slowly but we will get there.
