It's just a regular 67 Chevelle left dripper cover, with the big power brake clearance divot at the rear. Is there anything in particular you are wanting to see?

GM Powertrain 10-11-2017 01:41 PM

Does the car have an accelerator pedal and brake pad with stainless trim from a Pontiac? Just curious looks like it...

Yep! The guy apparently also had a GTO at some point, and liked the pedals and got a full set of all four pedal pads for this car.

ZiggyL78 10-13-2017 04:09 AM

JpMotorsports 10-13-2017 05:19 PM

Wow simply amazing! Nothing better than a black 67! Welcome to the club! Cant wait to see more of this car!

Ambrola 10-15-2017 08:55 PM

I visited Nuzum many times back in the late 60's and early 70's. It was only a couple miles from my home. Of course I was a 18 year old kid, but I remember looking at the 69 Z's in their showroom and just wishing.

You coming to Goodguys this weekend Jeff? I will be staying close to the racetrack Friday and Saturday. I would love to take a look at the L78. Will you be available ?

No, I'll be in VA working on the Elcamino L78, trying to get it done for MCACN!! Maybe next time.

Also, this black car will be at MCACN too !! Steve is squeezing it into the Vintage display.

Steve Shauger 10-20-2017 01:05 PM

Jeff is a true passionate enthusiast. He will be bringing this car to MCACN this year and I'm pleased it will be displayed in the Vintage Heritage display area. To me this is the ultimate 67 Chevelle, triple black, L78 and optioned perfectly. This is another reason to join us at MCACN!!!!! :beers:

It’s fascinating to see what is coming out of old barns and garages. Thanks for sharing.

Well worth the effort.Congrats!

jeffschevelle 07-31-2018 04:29 AM

I spoke to Mac! He remembered the car very well, as he was very good friends with the fellow who owned it from 1967 until he passed. He verified a lot of things I had already been told, and explained a lot of things I was wondering about!

Mac said he provided the dealer invoice to the owner many years ago, which is one of the items I got with the car (along with the POP and every NC safety inspection receipt showing the mileage each year it was still being driven!) Mac said that was the only dealership paperwork he had for this car. So guess I'll just have to be happy with that and the POP and the NC inspection receipts! Could be worse, LOL!

Thanks for all the help!

firstgenaddict 07-31-2018 04:55 AM

Congratulations on an AWESOME ONE OF A KIND CHEVELLE!!!!

Man I love BLACK LACQUER survivors!

I saw the car and said HOLY CRAP... SO NICE!

Just an amazing car equipped how every teenager would have wanted. Very much looking forward to having it participate in Vintage Certification 2018 @ MCACN. I doubt there's a better caretaker out there who is as passionate about 65-67 chevelles.

JpMotorsports 07-31-2018 05:02 PM

This amazing car and story/history keep getting better and better!

Mac was a HUGE help to myself 20 some years ago when I spoke with him in regards to my Parents 69 chevelle. He also remembered the sale and stories. Was looking for the only missing piece, Bill-O-Sale. Said give me a week and I will look into my folder of paperwork he had kept and BINGO ! Came up with yellow copy. Sent him a check and few days later was in my mail. Great guy to talk to.
