Hey great find....I live in Mass, just curious where you found the car? Not looking for any details, just the area, more curiosity. Good luck with getting it freshened up.

PeteLeathersac 06-23-2017 09:58 PM

'

For '69 only, Copo 9511 was required for factory equipped 4:56 or higher rear axles.
Not many but some '69 A/F/X-Body cars also Corvettes built/delivered w/ Copo
9511 are known today also documents exist for Copo 9511 '69 Camaros including a
Z28 and a Copo 9561 L72 car, maybe more.
A Z-28 or other '69 w/ 9737 and 9511 would be a Double Copo!
A 9560 or 9561 Camaro w/ 9737 and 9511 would be a Triple Copo!
Looking forward to whatever the axle stamping of this car is!
:beers:

Do you have any pics of the engine compartment

belker6 06-23-2017 11:52 PM

No pics of engine compartment yet, but will Monday as I receive the car then. I have a video but is way to large to post. Car was in Norwell then Pembroke.

fiveforty 06-24-2017 12:59 AM

Nice. That is like an hour from me. Docs are nice but the engine pad says it all :)

Any chance it could be just cleaned up, made road safe and driven as is...patina and all????

The world doesn't need another restored Camaro...but a survivor...never enough of them!

Good luck with whatever path you choose...great find.

Great picture sequence there, Tommy! :haha:

I wonder who was fooled by the 250 emblems? Love the lack of spoilers. Old Cragars too.

Starship 06-25-2017 02:34 PM

After the "Barn Find" display a little Simple Green and WD40. Will make an awesome Survivor!

belker6 06-25-2017 03:09 PM

And rear axle tube stampings too please!
Sorry but some of us are on the edge of our seats hoping it's a Copo 9511 car!

great find! can't wait to see the pictures

belker6 06-25-2017 05:35 PM

Me to! That would be easy to forget on his part as he may have changed them, or possibly had Motion do it. We shall see. I'm hoping for at least a 4:10. :) It is what it is. Dave

NorCam 06-26-2017 03:10 AM

OK...it's Sunday night where I am? More pics and details please. :)

bcmiller 06-26-2017 01:48 PM

Nice score.

Patiently waiting in the axle and transmission stamps.

camaromb 06-26-2017 01:52 PM

I recently looked at one of the 4 documented 4.56 rear Copo Camaros and like others we have seen it is stamped BE. How would the factory handle the 4.56 gearset if the BE was assembled with the 4.10s from Eaton?

Still awaiting arrival. Should be within the hour. Driver was held up in traffic yesterday and exceeded his hours. Attached is my "therapy" room I put in at our business. We are in the sporting goods mfg. business. :)

Great discovery! Looking forward to more details and pictures, but in the meantime, congratulations!

Well, looks like a M21 / 4:10 rear. Date on rear is correct at 1118 for a 11D car. Numbers match engine / trans. Looks like Power steering / radiator gone. He replaced the passenger fender years ago. No stripe or 250 emblem. Have to fix that. :) Front wheels pretty much locked. Took 8 people to push it. Anyone want to see specific pics let me know. Odometer shows 52k. More solid than i thought. Just a bunch of scaled rust. floors / trunk look pretty good. Have to have Schoney look it over for an expert analysis. :)

COPO 06-26-2017 04:15 PM

Looks like a neat find and a good resto candidate. Is Schonye going to restore?

belker6 06-26-2017 04:28 PM

Not sure. He just called while I was on the phone! :)

Mr70 06-26-2017 05:25 PM

So nice. :)

427TJ 06-26-2017 07:11 PM

I remember ten or so years ago someone saying, "The Lear Jets are taking off as we speak." (To get to a car that came out of hiding.)

This car need to go to MCACN just as it sits!

bcmiller 06-26-2017 08:06 PM

Interesting car. Not knocking it at all, but a few questions come to mind.

How did it go from an L78, M22, 4.56 to an L78, M21, 4.10 car?

Have you tried to get docs for it?

Carleen 06-26-2017 08:13 PM

From Team Camaro with link from Corvetteforum

I am enjoying watching this story unfold regardless of what becomes of it!!

belker6 06-26-2017 08:29 PM

Great link Carleen! Definitely the same car. I had no idea it was for sale before. I do know the reason both radiators were out of both cars. The guys son I was told used them for a bad habit. :) Not confirming that, but what I was told.

Mr70 06-26-2017 08:40 PM

Moonshine?

belker6 06-26-2017 08:44 PM

bcmiller, no offense taken! It is what it is. I was told M22/4:56. It definitely is not after i received car and checked #'s. Keep in mind owner was recollecting 48 years ago and after talking to him a few times he didnt seem to be much of a "car guy." As far as docs, if they are there I will find them. Can be a tiresome gruelling process, but i actually enjoy the hunt. :)

bcmiller 06-26-2017 08:54 PM

Ok cool. I look forward to hearing more.

bcmiller 06-26-2017 08:58 PM

Ran out of time to edit.

Engine/trans/axle look original to me. And yes date of axle is ok.

scuncio 06-26-2017 09:06 PM

Cool car, and looks like it was stored in slightly better conditions than my L78 'driveway find.'

whitetop 06-26-2017 10:02 PM

Please don't motionize it and add motion valve covers, fly eye air cleaner etc etc. as everyone tends to do.

belker6 06-26-2017 10:40 PM

Wont happen Dave. I have found out more info and hopefully a major contact. I hope it is the right person.
