I dont like it!

What is up with the private messages archive. What used to be a continious conversation is now a seperate message for every single response that has me at 900 messages of the 250 limit.

Are you going to re-compile them?

This sort of thing could/will drive me and a lot of members away. It is not a threat, just a fact.

Avatars are working now, working on size though.

Did you reset the forum skin to "default" in user cp/edit options?

Guys, try this suggestion, it will make the best site best again. Atleast it did for me.

I do apologize for the comments, as they may have been a little "strong". She was not a good day in "Paul's world" and SYC just happened to be in my cross hairs.

Calm down everyone. This is a better system and with this system we have Jody. You guys have seen how well I deal with tech issues on the site. The old system was outdated and getting harderto fix things. If it makes you guys feel any better when I had my password sent and logged in it said I was banned forever.

Actually, it banned me too the first time lol.

So it has artificial intelligence built in! :D

I feel for the admin as changes are refined and the bugs are worked out. I'm sure it'll be awesome once it's tweaked and will sit back and watch until then.

I have been through a few major IT system changes at work and have never seen a surprise upgrade..... I am pretty sure this is a better way to go, rip the bandaid off:-)

I love the old sYc but will get used to "sYc2.0" same great people, same great content, just more technologically advanced.

I see there is support already working on the transitional issues (Welcome and thx)

I like the "Team Chevelle" default it seems to work better than the Yenko skin....

I think the best thing to do is to ask the silly questions and get the screens set up to our liking. I am having a hard time finding the best main screeen showing the latest stuff that I haven't read.....

Thank goodness this site is back. I was very productive at work on Thursday. My boss now expects more of me.
My wife and I had a complete conversation and we made it through dinner without check Yenko.net. She also thinks I did something wrong since I gave her all my attention.
Thanks for keeping this site going. We will all get through the initial bugs together.
I only wish Charley would have provided me another site to occupy my time while this one got upgraded.

Yeah, it's pretty clunky and there's a bunch of bugs to work out--but I'm diggin' the upgrade.

I'm diggin the changes so far. Just went in to change my viewing preferences and found they were all set to default, so I set them up as I wanted them and all the images, signatures and thread layouts are now the way I was used to seeing them. For those who don't know, here are the steps to review and where you can find the boxes to setup your view and messaging preferences.

Go to:

1: User CP
2: Settings & Options
3: Edit Options (select boxes you like in here)
4: Save Changes & you're done!

Please put back all the cool Imoji's.....that was a very special feature of our Website.....Holly Rocks, Charley S#%€s, Bruce Rocks, etc.

The newest posts in a thread are at the top. So you have to read them by scrolling down.
I've looked and looked and can't find that setting. I did find the setting so the threads are listed newest first, but I'm looking for the setting for when you are reading a thread.

Kurt. Go to cp then edit options then. Linear "oldest first"

Can someone assist me with getting logged back in under my old username? Since the site here changed I got locked out and attempted to re set my username/password but the site would not send me a new password under my original registered email. I had to re register as a new member but would like to get logged back in under my old username...

So the new look is pretty interesting and I WILL figure it all out. Couple of questions:

1. Why is my avatar (and many others) so huge? Will this be corrected eventually or do I need to do something?
2. My signature photo only shows my link to my photobucket account. How do I make the photo show on its own?

I'm assuming the old forum settings resized any Avatar pictures to the maximum display size allowed and that a lot of people had larger file sizes in the pictures they had previously linked. Because the forum settings restricted the display size, I am sure they only appeared as small sizes in the user name display area because the software restricted the actual display size. It now looks like the forum software does not automatically resize the users linked image therefore it is cropping those with larger images to the maximum display window on the left sidebar.

I assume the restriction of size will be reinstated soon, and in the meantime you can resize your Avatar image to 150 pixels or less for it to display correctly. Perhaps try that and re-link it in your Avatar settings and it will display correctly. I made mine small and it's working good. The signature image redirect is another bug that will need to be sorted out and I'm sure it's on the list of things being looked at. My signature image appears as a link as well and the editing box in settings does not have an option for adding an image for signatures. I have tried pasting every redirect link possible from photobucket and all appear as a link only. An option needs to be added to the edit fields to add an image to the signature setup.

Great job on the conversion so far Jody. One thing I'd request, duplicate that forum jump box at the bottom right of the screen and add one to the top navigation bar so users do not need to scroll to the bottom to reset the page or jump to another section of the forums. The old site had hot links along the top of the page so if you were reading a thread in one particular section, you could go top of the page and jump to another section without having to back out of the pages?

I think the old hot link button was called "FORUMS" and clicking it took you to the home page displaying all sections. It was linked to this index page but didn't open it as a new page, it just returned you to index as home and had that link left on the top navigation bar? :)

Yep, that's what I meant. I found out that by clicking on the Yenko.net logo at the top left, it did the same thing and redirected my view to the whole forum list.

It gets worse as trying a few other things, the results aren't good.
Googling for past threads here, Google finds them Ok but clicking on them takes you to main menus here and not the thread.
Using last week's Clone LS6 as an example again, try Googling the Vin # only as below then click on the Google results...even last week's thread takes you to the Menu.
