Re: Orphan thread...parts etc.

I would probably post up 67-9 Camaro specific items on CRG. That is what I have tried to do although I copied my whole list from my spreadsheet when starting this. As for making this more in depth that is up to Charley and who he wants to manage it.

Thanks for posting the dates. No worries. I'm just happy we have something like this now. I wasn't concerned about credit. Just glad someone heard one of us.

606 case is actually 707?

And the 325 case has the date code in the 64 location?

I think this list fulfills a different need - for those cars that don't have an orphan list somewhere. There may be a few 67-9 Camaros on this list, but most are other models.

One suggestion - make the VIN as complete as possible to help with searches. F111146 vs 7F111146

Thanks!

Ran across a guy on YouTube who found a 1970 Z28 CTB shortblock with the VIN 576323. Didn't know if someone had the car it goes with. V0613CTB Date F100.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNcesQoR0gA&t=555s

Cross posted on NastyZ web site.

I don't know or have ever met with the owner, but by the youtube it seems pretty legit. He was not looking to sell it, but is only interested in building an early 70's style SBC so if the money is right he may give it up.

Ls6 Ragtop 03-13-2017 01:16 AM

Have a complete 69 Z28 Engine.
Date code is V0822DZ
VIN looks like 19L503140 stamping is faint down by oil filter.
Would love to reunite with original car.
Engine is complete carb to pan.

Any leads to reuniting this engine to its original home appreciated.

Kurt S 03-15-2017 01:39 AM

So close. I know where 9L503141 & 143 are, but not 140.

Ls6 Ragtop 03-19-2017 12:50 AM

Wow Kurt, that's really close. Hopefully 140 is still out there. Have my doubts as this motor is complete minus the exhaust manifolds and smog, but carb, distributor, alternator and deep groove pulleys are all there.. Hopefully the car still exists.
Chris

SS427 03-19-2017 10:10 PM

Ran across this today thanks to Luis. M22 out of a supposed LS6 according to the current owner but could be an LS5 as well. I did not find anything about the car in my database or an internet search but in case anyone has any info, the transmission is stamped with 10K141329 so a mid to late December built 454 Chevelle.

Jan of '66 vin and a Oct of '66 (67) assembly date? Am I reading your post correctly?

NorCam 04-05-2017 06:35 PM

Think I read that number wrong. I'll check the build date later.

NorCam 04-05-2017 09:55 PM

Just checked that case as my buddy read the numbers off to me in the shop yesterday since I didn't have my glasses on. He said he was having a tough time reading the numbers when he called them off to me?

That's because someone has re-stamped the date code over top of the original date. I can see numbers underneath the date code he read off, but cannot make out the underlying numbers. This is the M22 that was in my 68 Camaro so with that being said, I will just keep this one as a spare trans or as a parts unit.

Sorry for the confusion.

I have updated my first post and compiled all the partial or full vins into one list in numerical/alphabetical order. I will up it from time to time so please continue to post info as I am only making it easier to look to see if a vin has been listed vs having to look through all the posts. Thanks!!

Just got a complete long block 396/402 - 375hp. It has been in storage since 1982 until today. The casting number is 3969854 dated J39 with suffix T1006CKO. It has what looks like vin by the oil filter 0K117569. The heads are 3964291 dated J309 and I129. It has a cast pulley 3863108 on it. Still has what looks like GM solid lift cam with "L" slot rockers. Still has an AC oil filter and AC plugs in it. Not sure if the cars out there anymore but worth a shot. Larry 520-349-2337
