Re: Member's Ride Exhaust Sound Clips

Thx!

It's a Day 2 327. I put a lot into the blueprint, and the whole package seems to work well. I went with a custom Crane stick, think .514 / 300'....valves are all Race Flo, Big springs, guide plates..cc'd ect. Exhaust is 2-1/2 W/ transverse muffler. This was my attempt (this spring) to quiet this thing up. It is actually quieter in the front... Back, not so much.

Heres a better video of the green car.

Tommy 03-30-2017 03:47 AM

This is my 68 Chevy II. This video is from around 2010 I think. Its got a 1970 CE coded LT1 block I found in a guys shop in Murray, KY. It was just the block with main caps and windage tray. R&R speed shop in Huntsville did the machine work and assembly. Thats a comp cam solid lift 30-30 cam. It really ran well. Basic build with some decent parts inside. 2.02 valves and a C3b Edelbrock intake. sold car a few years back and bought it back again without engine. Gonna build another one for it eventually.

That sounds great Tommy! What mufflers were you running on it?

Tommy 03-30-2017 05:09 AM

oval style "Hollywood Deep Tones". In that video the caps are off the exhaust cutouts. It did sound good capped too though.

That sounds great- like it has a lot of compression. Love it!

Impala sounds real nice Lee...

Since most of us like open headers, here's a clip I made last weekend before it goes into my 68 and gets all buttoned up.

Liking the run stand and so glad I picked one up. Just waiting on the headers to come back from ceramic coating in the AM and then it's time to button this one up.

Diggin' this thread and all the exhaust...

I hadn't driven my car in a year or so. I got frustrated installing the new headers...I purchased the same Hooker part number I purchased in 1994, they weren't even close. So I took some time off. But now I dented a few tubes and its in.

Regardless, here it is before I took it get welded up. It's a little loud, but the cam sounds fantastic.
