What was/is the electrical gremlin? Pretty basic system unless some new harnesses were installed; I had a new one that was made incorrectly.

I have no idea about documentation while Mark owned the car ... I am not even sure if his parents are even alive -- they were in the 50s/60s when Mark had it ... TAZ

THX Taz.

Regarding the electrical gremlins, they still persist. Please see earlier in the posting for details.

Re: New Yenko Owner needing some help!

OK -- heres what you need to do ... the connector at the base of the column on top, check the wires and match up the colors. I am thinking that if that switch in the column was replaced (or column replaced) and not the right one for a Nova that could be the issue. If colors match up according to the diagram I would say the switch is bad. No hazard/signal lights, no horn all point to the switch. Have you jumped across the horn relay to see if the horns are good?

Re: New Yenko Owner needing some help!

Hey Taz;

Thanks for the pic of the circuit board. Horn relay itself check out good. If you know it, could you please give me the CORRECT part number for the turn signal wiring harness. I want to verify if I have the right one presently installed.

Did you have a chance to check the connector? I think I have the AC Delco number somewhere.

earntaz 07-04-2016 01:37 AM

Re: New Yenko Owner needing some help!

As near as I can find the GM number is 1893588 and the AC Delco number is D6208. Maybe some of the other members may chime in here if they have different numbers.

Ran out of daylight and Steph, my wife of 43 years, told me it was time to come in (now!).

So, I will check wiring and numbers tomorrow.

Many Thanks for all the great help and

Have a Safe, Sane and Happy Independence Day. Happy Birthday America!!

Re: New Yenko Owner needing some help!

Obsession can be a terrible thing at times.

If there is a number somewhere on that switch you may be able cross-reference it. You can also disconnect the plug and using the diagram jump wires to see if you get at least turn signal lights in the cluster. That would indicate the rest of the harness is good in the dash. For the lights, 12V comes from the hazard and turn signal flashers. If you cannot discern the color code, let me know and I will see if I can figure it out.

Also, while you’re under the dash, there is a small spade terminal on the side of the cluster next to and slightly below the gas gauge – that is the ground wire to the harness … make sure it is connected securely.

Have A SAFE INDEPENDENCE DAY and listen to your wife-mate ... that Deuce will be there tomorrow!!! TAZ

Rick, for future reference please post the same question only once in only one forum section. It keeps everything together for future use, and is easier for everyone. Thanks,Roger

Sorry Roger!

You're absolutely right.

I'm just a Newbie and maybe a little over exuberant!

Will post in just one location next time. Which one is best for questions like mine?

Happy 4th!

Rick, technical/restoration would be good. Search around in there, lots of great information. I find the search engine here is difficult to use, but other members are really good at posting links to other threads if it has already been discussed. The amount of knowledgeable people here that are willing to help, and the amount of information here is amazing.

Not one mention from the newbie in the eBay ad thanking earntaz,Marlin, livettes or Yenko.net for the very informative help here prior to the flip.

No disrespect intended, but I wouldn't put that in an ebay ad either.

Why?..Knowledgeable help is always appreciated & should be acknowledged in my book.
Even if it is a consignment, they can post what the owner dictates.

Re: New Yenko Owner needing some help!

I would look at it as a benefit that the owner obtained information from this site. It would also show that the car is known to the registry.

I couldn't agree more that "Knowledgeable help is (SHOULD) always appreciated & should be acknowledged". Did he thank everyone in the thread? That's all I'd expect from all the people I've tried to help over time. If I found out someone went further and mentioned it somewhere else, I'd think "that was nice." I get your point and I'm not trying to tell you what to think, but I just think dinging him for not saying something in an ad where he's trying to sell something on ebay might be a little much.

Re: New Yenko Owner needing some help!

I actually talked with Rick yesterday when I heard the car was for sale. I would not call this a flip. He explained to me he is selling all of his cars for personal reasons that I will let him make the choice whether or not to discuss on an open forum. I have only spoken to him a few times but he seems like a really good guy and I know he appreciates this site and the people here that are always willing to help.

I was not trying to ding him at all. I am sure he has his reasons for selling like Jamie said. I hope he gets all of what he is asking for it. I actually think that listing this site in the cars info would help with the sale (that was my only point) I know i have learned a ton from the guys here and I know that this site is important to the super car world

Re: New Yenko Owner needing some help!

To those who have recently "dinged me", I have this to say---Asshole---You have absolutely no idea what has recently happened either to me or close members of my family. I've thanked everyone, time and again, for ALL their help and input--each and every time. Just check my posts before you open your acid laced flytraps!!

It's only from complete jerks like you that I've ever heard this s*it!

I've listed all 6 of my cars for sale. I've owned several for many years. One was my wife's favorite (I've been with her for 43 years).

I'm not a car flipper. It was my passion. The owner of Celebrity Cars in Las Vegas is my FRIEND and has offered to help me out.

I can only hope that what befeld me hits you or your family! Some/most of you guys have been really nice and very helpful to a really old timer. Others can rot in hell!

Signing off for the last time.

If I can be removed from this site by the Moderator/Administrator, PLEASE do it ASAP.

I just don't need the aggravation right now.

I greatly appreciate those who assisted me during my short stay on the site.

I hope rcc comes back. Then maybe he can clear the air or fess up.

If you are a flipper, just say your are a flipper from the get go. It may turn some seller's off but honesty is the best policy or at least it used to be. Honor really does not exist anymore and it sucks.

rcc, If times are down for you I hope they get better.
