Just wandering if those other green cars have Ncrs .

Re: 1967 RS Camaro

The first letter indicates the plant and the consecutive number traces to the special instructions (F&SO). The suffix is the version.

Kurt can you explain the version part of it. Say version D verses a version C.
Thanks, Tony

Re: 1967 RS Camaro

Tony,
They are believed to be revision numbers. Jim Mattison would be able to explain how they advanced the letters.

Re: 1967 RS Camaro

Is there actual original documentation from the dealership? Or is the dealer going by memory. In my dealings w Joel, even though he remembers my car, he would only say a 'maybe' because he does not have all of the docs for every car that they built. So NO letter from Joel 'just from memory'

Trader 1, If you're selling the car it's your responsibility to prove how the car was delivered and how and when it was converted. In my opinion there are some holes in the story that need further investigation. Neat car but the burden of proof is on you, especially if you are asking supercar money for the car. It sounds like you have a good start in your investigation but a ways to go. Good luck in your research, it may pay off..

Re: 1967 RS Camaro

I've answered it before. No docs with the other two cars. Maybe they aren't the same dealer.

I will say never on a 05C LOS 4P car having a factory L78 in it. That's a factory thing, nothing the dealer would be aware of or could override.

IMO, a letter from a dealer employee based on his memory is not worth much, especially since it provides conflicting data. But if he actually has dealer docs, that's a different story.

Thanks kurt for clearing that up on the other green cars did not come from the same dealership. My car was the 1 green 67 out of 5 cars bob ordered. My grenade car with the oil cooler under the cowl. Bob and the mechanic installed. In this one green 67 camaro .when they did the engine swap

I have been watching this thread for a few days now, and find it hard to believe that someone would try so hard to convince people that they own a super car with no proof what so ever, other then a letter. This car was advertised in Lake Arrowhead, CA. approximately one to two months ago on CRAIGS LIST. The previous owner had the car for over 30 years, I talked to the owner in length about the car after seeing the special fleet code #, I did not get any indication from him that this car was any thing special other then a special ordered paint code car, I have every picture that was in the advertisement I just do not know how to upload them to this site. I have decided to let all the members asses and make their own opinions based on the actual add and pics. I will be glad to email the pics.to anyone who may want to upload them. This is how the add read:

1967 Camaro RS/SS 350 four speed. Drove the car for many years, started taking it apart to restore and life got in the way. Has 327 that needs a rebuild. Never had the original engine. Engine and Doug Nash five speed are out of the car, and interior was taken apart. Original four speed also included. Front disc brakes. 12 bolt Positraction with 3.73 gears.Typical wheel well rust in front of rear wheels, readily available patch panels will take care of it. Also very small amount of rust under front windshield. Otherwise rust free with no body rot. Original California car, special order dark green paint was the original color. Car was painted over 30 years ago and is faded, but what you see is what you get. There is no fresh paint and there has been plenty of time for additional rust to show if it was there. All parts are there except one front bumper bracket and one fender support brace. 70,870 on odometer, has turned over once so true mileage unknown. $18,500. For more Info call Craig.

I'm the one spouting words off. You're the one trying to make claims about your car with no significant documentation to substantiate your claims. Also, I think you should proof read what you write before you submit it. So many misspellings and grammatical errors it makes it difficult to read. I Will let the pictures speak for themselves and people make their own opinions based on that. I also have Craigs # still so I will make sure to give him a call to confirm what you are saying is true.

This Post about the car is as funny as the presidential election ... They too are all phonies.

Here is the definition of Phony .... pho·ny
/ˈfōnē/
informal
noun
plural noun: phonies
a fraudulent person or thing.
synonyms: impostor, sham, fake, fraud, charlatan; More

Re: 1967 RS Camaro

It does not matter how much he bought the car for. It does matter if the car is what it is being advertised to be. If the dealer did in fact receive more than one green 67 RS/SS, I think there needs to be more proof than what is shown. The cowl mounted oil cooler is unique and if the dealer remembers installing that it does point in the right direction.

Based on the build date, the 4P clearly shows this was a 350 car. There is simply no reason the tag would have a 4P when a big block was installed. That would do nothing but confuse guys on the line and cost GM more money.

Kurt,

Since you told the original poster what you know in regards to the other cars, can you tell us? It sounds like you told him one thing and we were told something else.

I hope the car is a dealer converted 427 car. That would be so cool!

Thanks,

Jason

Kool Camaro. So what was the purpose of the trans cooler under the cowl on a 4 speed big block drag style car?

I would say engine oil cooler not transfer cooler

Re: 1967 RS Camaro

I'm kinda catching up late in the game here, so forgive me if this is redundant. This discussion isn't becoming confused with the early '67 Pace Cars that were 396/375 cars but had 4P tags on them is it? I know that there are documented BB Pace Cars with 4P, but my understanding is that it was an early glitch that was cleared up after March '67.

Re: 1967 RS Camaro

I think the real problem here is we have a car that was bought for 18 grand, then goes to 69 grand. Guy joins the site and raises the price to 150! ARE U KIDDING ME? Then cops an attitude with members here who don't believe this story. Calls it a Yenko now? Again. Are u kidding me?
Looks like a let's get rich quick scheme.why are we even dealing with this? Does anyone really care about this train wreck?

Please keep the discussion civil folks. Trader I think you are typing too fast as some of what you say is hard to understand.
I have yet to see any dealer installed 427 type deal other than Yenko, Motion, Harrell bring anywhere close to Supercar money. Cool car if it is a 427 installed car when new but even with orig. dealer paperwork I don't think it will get anywhere near supercar money.

I think to add any real value you need to go thru Bobs paperwork and try to find something on the car.
