Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78
I can still remember the smell coming from its interior when I went to look at it at Jim's house. I bet that he had not opened the doors to it in years.

Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78

Dan,
Clean out your PM box. |
Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78
Very cool I hear those emblems are hard to find in decent shape.
|
Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78
I found a previous owner name from about 1983.
Anybody in the Holland, MI area that knows or knew a Russ Jacobs? Apparently he was a bodyman, and also restored old gas pumps at that time. Here's the used "By Berger" emblem I found with help from another member here. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dscf8012.jpg |

Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78
Well, my wanted ad in the Holland, MI Craigslist paid off!
I got a call from a couple guys. One guy is probably a good lead for parts and info on other cars, as he has been messing around with Chevelles for quite awhile. The second call I got was from Russ Jacobs, who did own this car in 1983. He remembers buying it in Muskegon, MI It had SS wheels on it when he bought it, but got a free set of wheels from his work, so that's what you see in this picture. It also looks white, but actually is silver. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-dscn4102.jpg |

Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78
Awesome, check out that custom side stripe....perhaps the black stripe was already there and the added the Blue stripe over it with the custom swirl at the rear....I wonder if it went up unto the trunk?

Dan </div></div> I'll ask him if the stripe went over the top of the rear quarter. See the yellow Accel Supercoil barely sticking up in the underhood area? The holes are still in the firewall where it had been. |

He bought it in Martin, MI and said it was lettered with the name of a Chevy dealer from Ravenna, MI. He will be sending me pics of the way it looked back then.
