Wow Ryan, very cool car. Great story and great photos to boot.
I know you are a dyed-in-the-wool Chevelle guy, as am I; however, this is a car I can really see getting excited about. This should take the edge off your current Chevelle quest for now. If your luck is like mine though, this is the time that the pieces of the puzzle for the Chevelle you have been seeking will come together. Be prepared. Congrats on the purchase. Phil Woj. I am 100% prepared, if an original owner (who lives less than 30 minutes from my home) of a 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe SS396 4 speed in similar condition with similar options, and similar documentation wants to trade me straight up I will think about it, and deliberate, and say NO!!!! but I do know several people who would like to get in on that deal:-) Ryan |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Awesome car, awesome family and awesome NEW owner! Congrats go out to Ryan and his family, who I am sure will be outstanding caretakers of this W31.
Looks like the MCACN Barn Find/Hidden Gems area will again have some fine Oldsmobile representation. I think we best locate the Post Sedan Invitational area on that side of the floor too...or you better bring your skateboard! Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Ryan, Look on the engine pad of the warranty block. Stefano and I have compared notes and your info. is welcomed, too. If it is a warranty W-31, I'm betting the numbers are stamped upside down.

Looks like you're an Oldsmobile man now Ryan! What balancer and #'s are on the spare engine also extra Muncie? Again being the spare engine's in the car w/ trans mounted, the crank must be pilot bearing drilled so may be something good too? ~ Pete |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe

I got the hood open after an hour, Al had modified the latch so no one else would get into it! He showed me but I was a little preoccupied:-) I took some crappy cell phone pictures, will post soon Ryan |

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Don't worry
My ram air four 4 speed gto had Manual drum brakes and 4.33 rear gears I still could stop it with the brakes . ( correctly adjusted of course) Did the under bumper air scoops survive? |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Cool you are VERY fortunate
That the under bumper air scoops Survived! ( not many did) |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Bingo on the 1111930 dizzy also 7029255 carb too Ryan! Nice bumper scoops too but where's that pair of original air system hoses Al had bought and stashed aside? Again that shifter box was key to this whole thing coming together and my first learning that this car even existed. More to the story, Al used to race snowmobiles and I asked about the shifter a few years back when at their old place buying his '73 racing sled. My ears went up when he mentioned W31 and of course my next question was if it happened to be a 2 Door Post! Tough to see the spare engine #'s in the pic, can you note and relay them please also did you check the balancer & extra Muncie #'s yet too? ~ Pete |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
