Re: Supercar Photographs
This Camaro was built just over 400 cars before your Berger car was and is 1 body number off the one that the SCW restored. I don't know who restored this one.

Re: Supercar Photographs
Check in with Mr. Bimby at Nickey Chicago...he has another Jack Douglas Yenko Camaro every bit as nice as this yellow one and it's pics deserve to be in this thread.

Re: Supercar Photographs
----This yellow Douglas/Yenko may have first been restored many years ago by our member, George Weathered. He found it, I believe, in Downers Grove and did a nice resto for the time. Cant remember how long he kept it but it was yellow and from Jack D.......Bill S

The Yellow Douglass Yenko on the Cover of "Top Muscle" was exquisitely restored by SCW. http://www.motorbooks.com/books/Top-.../9780760345146 If memory serves the other Yellow Douglass Yenko shown in the pics above was found for sale by Bob Trez in the Milwaukee News Paper. It was very original when found, including the original engine. Mike G had it restored quite a while ago and it is now owned by another member. |
Re: Supercar Photographs
Does anyone have any pictures of douglas yenkos with yenko stripes from when they were new? I have never seen a vintage picture of a day1 douglas yenko.
The reason I ask was because I was at chevy vettefest once with my black camaro L78, and there was a yellow copo right across the isle from me, one of the best restored cars I have ever seen, probably not as good as SCW, but I thought it was nice. I though it was maybe a yellow douglas car. Anyways, while I was standing there during the show, a guy came up with a vintage picture of a yellow camaro with a black hockey stripe, and showed it to the owner of that yellow car. I was not sure if it was that car from back in the day, as I could not get into the conversation the owner was having with that person that had the picture. But I always wondered. |

Here is the thread on George's car George W's (NoYenko) Yenko |
Re: Supercar Photographs
As George W. states in his post the car he restored was 649313 which is the car the SCW restored and is on the cover of Top Muscle. The car in the pictures I posted is 648934 and according to Stefano's post above Mike G. had it restored when he owned it. I didn't want to make any members here mad by posting the VIN's of their cars, but since the VIN's are in the registry I guess it doesn't really matter.

#23. This is an 03B 4 speed car that was sold new at Bob Johnson Chevrolet in Wausau WI. It was on the cover and featured in the November 2013 issue of Muscle Car Review. This is a highly documented car that will be at Mecum in Dallas in September.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#24. This is an 01B Yenko Camaro that was sold new at Hult Chevrolet in Madison WI. It has just over 3K miles and has been repainted. It was a racecar known as "The Gambler" early in it's life.

#25. This Yenko Camaro is an 03B 4 speed car that was sold new at Stauffer Chevrolet in Scranton PA. It was Best of the Show at Musclepalooza a few years ago. I believe it was restored by the Supercar Workshop.

Re: Supercar Photographs
Thanks for all of the great pics. Were there many black Yenko Camaros made?
|
Re: Supercar Photographs
The last two 69 Camaros I posted are actually Fathom Green. By my count there were 36 of those give or take. There weren't any Tuxedo Black 69 Yenko Camaros. There were at least two Tuxedo Black 67 Yenko Camaros built.
|
Re: Supercar Photographs
Thanks. I knew those were FG, but never saw one in black which is why I asked.
|
Re: Supercar Photographs
#27. This Deuce is the only Hugger Orange 4 speed with power steering that was produced. The original selling dealer is currently unknown. It was sold as a used car at I believe Lee Slaughter Auto Sales in DE. It then sat outside for years at Midway Transmission in Centreville MD before being rescued. It does not have the original engine and I'm not sure about the rest of the drivetrain.

#28. This Yenko Deuce is a 4 speed car that was sold new at Dale Chevrolet in Waukesha WI. This car still has it's original drivetrain and was once owned by Steve Sandlin.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#29. This Yenko Deuce is a 4 speed car that was sold new at Konners Chevrolet in Columbus OH. I don't know if this one has the original drivetrain or not. I believe this one and the Moses Deuce above were both restored in Donahue.

Re: Supercar Photographs
Moses deuce was done in Donahue probably 10 years ago or more. Blue deuce is Jamie Jarvis's car I believe.
Moses is still around. He calls me out of the blue every once in a while. He was devastated to hear that Steve Sandlin had passed away. He's a very cool original owner with lots of neat stories. |
Re: Supercar Photographs
#30. This Yenko Deuce is a 4 speed car that was sold new at Marve Minneman Chevrolet in Youngstown OH. This is a numbers matching car with 45K miles. The Hurst wheels were not an available option on these cars, but look cool since the last 50 Deuces were converted by Hurst.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#31. This Camaro is an 02D X11 4 speed car that was sold directly out of Yenko. It is a numbers matching car with just under 17K miles. I believe this car was featured in the November 1986 issue of Muscle Car Review when it was owned by Bill Breidenfield. Stefano also had it for sale recently on his site.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#32. This Camaro is an 01B X66 car that was sold new by Yunker Chevrolet in Oconomowoc WI. I don't know anything else about this car. There are 5 known Fathom Green 01B X66 Yenko Camaro's and I believe that is all that were built.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#33. This Camaro is an 06A 4 speed car that was sold new at E.B. Smith Chevrolet in Nashville TN. It is a numbers matching car with 52K miles and is documented with the Bill of Sale. This is one of the first Yenko Camaros I ever saw when it was at the Indy Super Chevy Show back in the mid 80's. It was featured in the February 1986 issue of Guide to Muscle Cars and the November 1986 issue of Chevy High Performance. It was originally restored without the vinyl top. Sometime between Mecum Indy 2009 and MCACN 2012 the vinyl top was reinstalled.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#34. This Camaro was sold new at Jack Douglass in Hinsdale IL. It is 1 of 10 Olympic Gold Yenko Camaros built and I believe 1 of 4 that are known. It was part of Gary Holub's collection at one time.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#35. Here you go bergy! This Camaro is an 03B 4 speed car that was sold new at Stauffer Chevrolet in Scranton PA. I do not believe this car has it's original engine. There was a long thread on here when this car was found, documented and restored a few years ago.

#36. This is one of two known Monaco Orange Yenko Chevelles. It was sold new at Colonial Chevrolet in Norfolk VA. It is a numbers matching car with an automatic transmission. It was featured in the July 2003 issue of Super Chevy and the August 2008 issue of Muscle Car Review. It was also in Bob McClurg's Yenko book.

Re: Supercar Photographs
Is that Mark Hassett's Yenko Chevelle? I don't know who owns the other one?
Ryan |
Re: Supercar Photographs
Yes. The other one is nearly identical and was sold by George Lyons several years ago. I have pictures of that one as well. It was a mostly original paint car. It sold at Mecum Indy in 2008. I don't know who owns it now.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#37. This is 1 of 2 known Dover White Yenko Chevelles. This is a 4 speed car that was sold new at Joseph Chevrolet in Cincinnati OH. It has a CE block and just under 13K miles. It was featured in the June 2011 issue of Muscle Car Review and was the February 2010 Super Car Feature on this site.

#38. This 67 Camaro is YS703 and to my knowledge is the only known Ermine White 67 Yenko 427 Camaro. It was sold new at Jay Kline in Minneapolis MN. I believe the Yenko emblems were added later and are not original for a 67 Yenko Camaro. This car was featured in the June 2010 issue of Muscle Car Review. It was also in Bob McClurg's Yenko book.
