Mr Yawn and booooring.....it's obvious that you are a newbie and probably never been to the event ....if you have ever drag raced legally you would know it's far from boring . Btw. The cars are only half the fun ....your friends are the other. Negativity is usually spawned from ones lack of knowledge. We welcome your comments but please don't insult 17 years plus of hard work and dedication . Do they move Bowling Green or MCACN, Carlisle, Mopar Nationals ?

I want to thank Tom Clary & all the people that helped in the 17th year of the SUPERCAR REUNION.
Everybody had a good time . It was fun to see old and new friends. What other people think.

Once again a great weekend.

Thursday evening at the hotel saw this year’s honoree, Ken Barnhart, entertaining everyone with his many stories of his days of drag racing. Can you imagine having “Big Daddy” help you change the clutch in your car?

Friday we traveled to Gateway International for some good ole drag racing. We had a reserved area close to the staging lanes, which was nice. From 2-4 pm, we had the track to ourselves, which saw lots of smokey burnouts, wheelies and motors wound to the max. The track management was gracious enough to allow passengers, which allowed folks first hand the experience of going down the quarter mile in a supercar. I do not have all of the times, but I know both Deuces, Jamie Jarvis and Pam/Jerry Albert were in the 13s, Doug Perry and hired gun Dave went deep into the 12s in the Green COPO, Rob ran a 12.10 in the Yellow Sub, and I ran a couple of 10.60s in my Yenko Deuce.

Friday evening saw everyone gather for a nice dinner, which featured time for everyone relax and visit, great food, and a chance to hear more stories from the racing past from Ken.

Saturday morning we returned to the track for more racing, making three more passes, this time surrounded by wall-to-wall racers and show cars. Following the final pass (no clean up) we went directly to the show area to allow folks a chance to see our cars up close. Three members of our group received awards from the Super Chevy Show judges. Jamie Jarvis, Pam/Jerry Albert and Ken Barnhart. Congrats!!!! I guess you can have your cake and eat it too (race/show).

As a bonus, I got to cackle my old funnycar a couple of times. Forgot how much fun, and how loud it was.

A special thanks to everyone who helped with the banquet, and last but not least, a big “THANK YOU” to those involved with in presenting me with a plaque, gift and &quot;Christmas Tree&quot; cake.

Cannot wait until we do it again at SCR18.

Wow Jim. Great video. Thank you for sharing. Ladies and gentleman ....this site is about cars and friendships.....some race their cars, some drive their cars and some show their cars. Each one of us has a personal preference. We are all blessed with family and our hobby of cars/friends. When you go to the garage and look at your pride and joy....remember that life is too short to hold a grudge. I lost a dear friend on Saturday night ....he helped me acquire 2 COPO Cars ...so in my eyes it's about others and not me. We cannot take our worldly possessions with us....so think hard about what matters most . I was able to meet 2 new friends this weekend....that means the cars made this happen. Thanks Guys and I hope everyone made it home safely from all events.

Something they did this year, was have the racers return to the pits via the road in front of the bleachers, like the big boys do. Was very cool to see all of the thumbs up gestures from both fans and racers as we drove back to our area.

Just wanted to thank Doug Perry and his &quot;crew&quot; for allowing my buddy and I to hang out with them at the track. Doug took us in like we were family, sheltered us from the swealtering heat using his awsome new trailer and, now get this, took me down the track for my first run EVER on a drag strip in his beautiful COPO!! I also want to thank Dru Diesner for hooking me up with Doug. I am unable to drive now due to a genetic eye disorder and have never raced a car of any kind in my life but love muscle cars. I got to meet Doug's friend Dave, supe nice guy, Tom Clarey (sp) and his cool Nova and really enjoyed meeting and talking to Mr. Barnhart - what an honor!!
