The shifter hole in the tunnel is spot on perfect! Many cars had them 'enlarged' for different shifters. The holes were originally torched, then the factory snipped 2 sides of the opening to make them a tad larger (I'm not telling which of the 2 sides!)- this car's was factory original....

I spent alot of time (and beer)on this car and never made it to the mcacn show that year. I never got to appreciate the best of show GM with Sam and my dad. My daughter, who was born that week needs a ride in that car. Sam send it up to Iowa! She is 3, and probably could drive it.

Yes it was. Like Marlin said, while it looked rough in the picture, it cleaned up nice. And with only minor work, started right up after all those years. I remember Steve Sandlin swearing us to secrecy about bringing it to the reunion, but I think he told half the people there that we were on the way with it. I miss that guy. Anyway, there could have been no better care taker for that car than Sam. I/we are very proud to have been part of the history of the car. From the Roofs to Sam, it couldn't have had a better chain of owners. Sam, please screen the prospective buyers well. She needs the best of homes.

Hay Sammy, the speed was 25 MPH I was Jeff's driver on one of those car shoots and got bitched at for going to fast on the first pass, like 27 MPH
I have offered my services to exercise the Deuce and the orange Yenko while here in AZ, but so far no luck, can't wait to get my black beauty out and blow out the gunk..

Fellas, I assure you I have not taken letting my Deuce go lightly. It has been an over-the-top experience having this special Nova. It has allowed me to meet and get to know better some terrific folks. Promoting the whole day-two thing has been a hoot. I used to be a stock-look guy (just ask Dave House aka ngtflyer) and I am now completely on board with presenting these cars the way they roamed the streets shortly after delivery to their first owners. I appreciate both now.

Time flies as it doesn't seem long ago the Roofs showed up here and were almost chased away w/ their original postings.
Thankfully they stuck it out as their Deuce couldn't have found a better home than w/ Sam, look again at the results for any clarification necessary!
Restoring w/ the original day-2 performance hardware intact put this car into a class of its own also a new level for others to strive for.
Best of luck w/ the sale Sam also whoever gets to be this stunning car's new owner!

Re: "Roof" Deuce for sale ('70 YENKO Nova)

Sam,

First of all like everyone else I agree that's one awesome ride, even if it is a frickin Nova.

For those of you that don't know, Sam and I used to share the same office for a couple years. I remember many arguments with you at work about the "stupid high school look" when I said someday I would have a Chevelle like I had back in high school. Slots or Cragers, meats on the back, headers, traction bars, aftermarket air cleaner, valve covers, hurst t-handle, Sun Tach, and ok maybe not the shag carpet on the package tray. Of course he's a squid and couldn't be expected to know better. I am glad to see that you not only have finally came around but you took it to a whole new level.

I am surprised the Roof Duece hasn't sold already, it seems very reasonably priced and is an over-the-top awesome car, literaly a piece of art.

And what about drive it, I expect Earl would enjoy winding 'er up through the gears a few more times!

Just be careful - I took my Deuce back to KY and let the 2nd owner take it for a spin, he drove it like he stole it!! I was a little nervous, not just at the speeds we were doing on some little, winding KY roads but also at the engine rev's. The second owner is the one with the
