Re: National Trails Racing!
Joe it is always good to have you here for Trails weekend. If we can get your Mayor then maybe I can persuade the Mayor of Fishkill to join us ....call it Axles and Agendas. And Tom can show us what a Deuce can do

Re: National Trails Racing!
"Axles and Agendas"
good one! |
Re: National Trails Racing!
Would be cool to throw a few of our younger (JR.) racers into the mix as well, such as our two, Marlin's two, etc.
|
Re: National Trails Racing!
Tom we have plenty of room for the Jr dragsters. Marlin as well. They generally have racing Friday Saturday and Sunday. Make it a racing weekend. Our session is private to our group. Then it is open racing for the rest of the weekend...they charge 15 dollars to race or watch ...there are plenty of other Jr dragsters

Re: National Trails Racing!
I like it, count me in next time. I look forward to taking some laps myself. If I can only get my painter to finish my Nova.

Re: National Trails Racing!
Come on Sam! Look at the slips, my second run looked as if it was gonna be better than the first. Doug had a pass earlier that he missed 3rd and his buddy Ed missed 3rd on the final pass. Damn 4spds! Give me a powerglide with a transbrake. I do have to admit, even though it was only 13.19 it is the fastest I have been in over 12 years on the track.

Re: National Trails Racing!
A good run for Joe and that COPO car!
|
Re: National Trails Racing!
I am guessing Joe had the emergency brake on and his thong was riding up ...on him. Lol He also didn't have a beer cup holder by the column. Small things mean alot to the Iowa bunch

Re: National Trails Racing!
Doug, maybe this could turn out to be a SYC event. Twice a year.. Once in the spring and again in the fall!! If you do it this fall I will DEFINITELY be there come "hell or high water"..

Re: National Trails Racing!
Rich. We would have to have the Chairman of the Board ...Mr Clary running the Deuce car. Toms car will be like a blood hound finding its way to its home track. Rich as always I enjoy when you are in town....lets get Ann down the track again
|
Re: National Trails Racing!
Would be awesome to have another supercar/musclecar racing type event (or two).

Re: National Trails Racing!
Kil-Kare out near me (in Xenia) may be a player too. They are refurbishing the track right now.

Re: National Trails Racing!
Anyone have a side/3/4 shot of the black 69 with the Cragars?

Re: National Trails Racing!
Sam the old owners of KilKare was the Chrysler family. The son Jack had a brother and sister as partners. They could not get along and with that said ...sold it. Jack owns Ohio Trailers here in Columbus. Great guy. He fabricates things for me and services my trailer and motorcoach.

Re: National Trails Racing!
I contacted National Trails earlier this week to ask about a bigger venue ......for more cars ....I can reserve the track for up to 75 cars racing on a Friday from 9am till 5 pm...both lanes sprayed and side by side racing. Any interests ?? I will ask about food ...or if we can cater a BBQ or bring in Pizza Cottage. Great pizza joint only about 10 minutes away. They also have Friday night and Saturday Sunday drag racing after our session

If memory serves, this very pic was only my 2nd or 3rd pass ever down a track. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...ps2372df31.jpg Oh the memories.... Sorry to butt in on the thread. |
Re: National Trails Racing!
Quite alright Eric. The memories are the lasting impressions. Some of us can go on and on about the track days. I know I can. Went with my dad ...btw. Thanks for the great job and quick turnaround on my 4346.

Re: National Trails Racing!
Guys. I talked to the track again. I was given a possible date of Saturday July 27 th from 9-3 pm After our session they will be running King of Columbus Drags. It usually brings out some fast cars. I was told that our crowd could stay for that as spectators free of charge or if individuals wanted to race they would go down to gate A and pay to race .....thoughts ??
|
Re: National Trails Racing!
Sounds good. Single lane or side by side, whatever you can work out with the track.
