Re: Vintage Drag Car Haulers or Tow Rigs.
Pretty sure that Benz is the same rig that gave one guy the idea to build his own overhang hauler using a then new '59 Camino cab.
He was in the US and a road-racer I think, anyone else remember it? ~ Pete |

What a bunch o' fantastic pics!!! Love how he got the Drag-Dimensions decal stuck there while in Karbelt paint! RIP Curly. ~ Pete |
Re: Vintage Drag Car Haulers or Tow Rigs.
I noticed the decal there but in other photos I see Drag Dimensions elsewhere on the car. what was up between Karbelt and Drag Dimensions . I have talked via internet with Eddy Bryck this week. getting for information on Drag Dimensions. I want to get as much as I can and as accurate as I can before I get the web site up.

Just found this cool old thread. Here's a shot of my green car with its old ramp truck from back in the 80's. Kym built it in the mid 70's and used it along with Randy for about 10 years. Trying to track it down now and see if I can find it, or something similar to it that I can use.

The one x Baldwin Motion posted of the black 69 on the white Chevy flat bed in the barn covered with dust is just awesome.
Here are a couple of pics of my father's racecar on his ramp truck circa 1968/1969. Probably headed to New England Dragway. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4737/...13cd708ae9.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4588/...2fc9415820.jpg |
----I was up at Epping almost every weekend in the summer of 69 with my 396/350 Camaro. Seems like I remember that Nova. Also started back in the early 90's with Red Alert, mostly testing......Bill S

Great photos. I don't ever remember seeing one of these hauling a car on the road when I was a kid. I would have blown a fuse if I did.

Shame this thread got ruined by Photobucket - love the old ramp trucks!

Where are you in NJ Peter?

Can't tell me this wouldn't look just sweet as a tow vehicle for a 36' goose neck hauler in a matching paint theme. Truck is simply spectacular in my opinion! On today's docket in Scottsdale.

Since I still had the old tow bar I went looking for an logging chain to duplicate the vintage tow setup. Found one in my in-law's barn; I added a hitch to the Grand Prix so now I can do this:

Great pics all. Especially the Corvair towing the GTO. Priceless.

Keith,,, Does your 63 GP have a 4spd or the slim-jim? And, if the slim-jim, how does it tow?......Bill S
