Re: 1970's Street Machines
Anyone know where the above photo taken? I have a photo of another (painted black) 69 Yenko Chevelle taken either at a car show in Burnsville, MN or at a dragstrip in Wisconsin. Need to find it to confirm.

Not sure. I haven't talked to Dan in years. The last time I saw him was when he finished the paint job on Jeff's 57. That was a long time ago. Jeff is getting old.

Re: 1970's Street Machines
that is such a great site, love it every time I go, and now I want a street freak van. My 70 mr norms challenger is in your pics (sitting on blocks).
I posted a long time ago here on yenko, a thread on moparts I found, that had tons of cool old mopart shots, but I have not found it yet. When I do, you can pick and chose out of that. Not sure where it is on moparts...but its good stuff.. |

Re: 1970's Street Machines
thanks mockingbird. Took alot to paint it like that. my dreram car since high school. A real 25,000 mile Z28. sold new at village chevrolet in long island. The guy took it appart in 1974 to make it a " world of wheels car" and never finished it. I have the matching DZ motor all detailed up and sitting on a stand in my shop. air shocks and 15x10 cragars on the rear this week. Bought a mint GM flat hood to cut and saved the original cowl hood in the loft. Car is a factory cowl hood car ! well, was.... nothing original cut up so I can always change it back to stock. I've had restored cars and just want something diffrent. Steve Sarasota florida

Re: 1970's Street Machines
well.... have been building a 69 Camaro with my oldest son. coming along good. My youngest son turned 15 last Friday. Of course he had to get his permit on his birthday and we had a surprise birthday party for him afterwards. Hes a little motorhead. He might be young but ALWAYS wants to be in the middle of the car projects going on. Hes in love with the 67 mustang fastback so when I found this one in a storage unit for 25 years I couldn't pass. It was his teachers late husband who was killed by a drunk driver. She had a real hard time giving it up but knew Austin ( my youngest) from school and felt he was the one that the car should go to. I got it running... new tank, lines, pumps, battery, complete brake system and it drove last Friday for the first time in 25 years !!! The next day hes pulling the motor. Cant blame him.
he has an advantage as I have a machine shop(Big-machine.com ) that he can use to build it real cheap. Hes an old school type. Loves the bigs and littles not the 19's. watching him inside the engine compartment reminds me of me and my buddys back in the day.... never changes ! love it !! we are all so lucky to be addicted to cars. Re: 1970's Street Machines
yep ! Hes on me everyday when I get home. Hes got the new motor in and installed MY yellow accel super coil. Waiting for the ballast resistor so he wont burn up the points ! Trying to teach him that points WILL get the job done and how to set and maintain them. pertronix or MSD at a later date. Hes so old school. Had to have the yellow accel plug wires, white headers and wants the fly eye air cleaner. funny !!! He wants the Shelby body kit but wants to leave the paint rat rod / barn find style. go figure.... where he gets this from I don't know but its all good !!
