I know its August and you are thinking, I have plenty of time to register for the show....well...Typically Bob does the floorplan in September and he will allot a certain amount of space for the Yenko Mean Ones display, dont miss your chance to be a part of this historic display by waiting too long to commit! We get thousands of emails per week, so if you want to be sure there is a spot for you on the showfloor, and IN the Yenko display be sure to send a formal registration form in. (Bob does not refer to emails or phone calls when making the floorplan, we use registration forms only)
You can print one and mail it in from this link: http://www.mcacn.com/2012Application.pdf or you can complete your application online at https://www.jotform.com/form/91852225146 Email me if you plan to be in the Yenko Mean Ones Display, and I will assist you in getting registered. musclecarandcorvettenationals@gmail.com Thanks! Re: Big MCACN Announcement; Calling Yenko Enthusiasts
I haven't been here in a few years, but thought I'd stop in again. I thought of this site when I was downstairs digging out old Yenko collectibles. I've located many older release 1:64 & 1:18 die cast, plus some Yenko memorabilia purchased at that auction at the very 1st Yenko Reunion (1998) in Henderson, TN at the Holiday Inn. What a neat weekend that was. Anyway we have participated in MCACN for the last 4 years now in the swap meet/collectible area, and what a show it is. Always love love love it. Wish I still had the real one though...

Great to have you back on the site, Jim and thanks for your continued support of the MCACN show. Jim has signed up again to vend with us in his usual spot in our swap area, against the far wall up front. Be sure to stop by his display and check out all the great stuff he has. Bashton MCACN Managing Member

Thanks Bob. We really do try to have the good stuff. I've dug out some of my own personal items to bring to this show, in addition to 1:64, 1:43, 1:20, and 1:18 diecast, I'll have a couple porcelain Yenko Camaro's (9" and 12") plus Don Yenko's off white dinner jacket he was married in, his Army-Air Force green uniform jacket with a couple of patches, and a shirt-jacket type item that was signed by many of his friends at a college graduation / frat party / reunion type event. Really a unique piece, with sayings, notes, signatures, many drawings on it, even Hope signed it. Like Bob said, back in the corner of the swap meet, right next to where some people exit the swap meet to get to the hotels. Stop by and check us out. Now a short story... When I read there is to be 7 of the 8 Pontiac Trans Am convertibles ('69's) it brought back some memories, as that's what this is all about - right? In 1980-81? area I was at the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals walking the showfield. I come upon a '69 TA, stop, pull out my camera, focus, and when looking through the lens to get the best photo I can, I notice a matching convertible - in the background. Wow, never seen one before! So I stopped, didn't take the photo, walked around both cars, stopped again, took a photo of the convertible - with the coupe in the background... Something obviously I'll never forget. I can't wait to maybe see the exact same car again... and looking very much forward to it. |
Re: Big MCACN Announcement; Calling Yenko Enthusiasts
I am finalizing the MCACN 2012 floorplan, and we are now up to an incredible 55 Yenko automobiles that have signed up to be a part of this history making gathering. I will publish a list of the cars, but let me tell you...we have ALL the bases covered!
Also of note; we have again surpassed the 500 car mark, with over 75% coming in to the Chicago area for the very first time. We have a few more swap meet area spots, ($100 each) and about 8 car corral spots ($100 each) remaining before we are officially sold out across the board. Whew! Our goal to once again "raise the bar" is absolutely guaranteed, no matter what brand you lean toward, and the overall balance between makes and models is the best ever. You are killing me, Bob. It's the opening weekend for the new Formula One track here in Austin that weekend and I probably won't be in Chicago for the great MCACN event. Re: Big MCACN Announcement; Calling Yenko Enthusiasts
Last year I helped out with the ZL/1 display that was amazing, not to mention a LOT of work to get the cars setting and looking right. And that was sixteen cars. With this years response to the "Meet the Mean Ones" gathering the job will be enormous. Not only the cars, but do not forget the amazing display of Yenko memorabilia. I want to thank everyone that has committed their cars, memorabilia and their time. Look for the current roster to be posted soon. If you want to be part of the show, you still have time, and we would love to have you...BKH

Re: Big MCACN Announcement; Calling Yenko Enthusiasts
I brought a piece of Yenko memorabilia here to work today to take some photo's. This is one of the pieces I purchased at the 1st Yenko Reunion in Hendersonville, TN back in 1998(?). It was in the auction of some of Don Yenko's personal items.

Orlando, is this MM's car? It would be very nice to see this car there especially if it is the one I am thinking of. It will have one of the best paint jobs anywhere on it. |

Just for a minute, close your eyes and imagine this display; the colors, the sizes, the variety, the memorabilia and most important...the people and the many memories that will surface and be made.
And then...imagine the symphony that will take place when the show closes and these babies start to fire up to exit the building! To put things in perspective, this display will be close to twice the size of the ZL1/COPO display from last year and will have 20+ more cars than we had in our big Cars of Hurst display the in 2010.
