As for any additional clear---use an Elcometer; not for El Caminos! Some of the buyers at the auctions (normal everyday cars for the dealership used car inventory) use (I do NOT) a tool called an Elcometer that measures the thickness of paint on a METAL panel. Some of the paint work is so good that the meter MIGHT be the only way to detect a previous repair. You can spot the "REAL PROS" when the put the meter on a Corvette or vehicle that is constructed of something OTHER than metal. My buying theory is if the paint work is "GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME, IT'S GOOD ENOUGH"

I remember seeing two L78 ragtops facing each other, and I think you're right - they were '66s. I think if it was a '67, I would have remembered it being more remarkable because they're so much rarer.

Hey John, tell Glenn maybe that car would sell if you put the american torque thrusts on it just like what was done on the white 69 yenko camaro. Obviously some restored originals would make the most sense. Goodyear polyglass (maybe G series in back, F in front). That worked, remember? I think gold cars with real americans look so dang good.
