Kenny don't you worry...after you get done with that car I'm sure the fender will be proud to be on that car!

Got the NOS Passenger side last week......Today I got my eBay Drivers side "used" fender.......Must have lived it's life out by Bruce and the "Painter Guy" as it has just some very light surface rust.....

Took some more pic's of my "Beautiful" original paint survivor car.......The color and orange peel hides the dents as even taking these closeups it's really hard to see the true flavor of whats there.......LOL.......But, as I said before......the guy's at Puleras (Body Shop) said it's not a big deal....and with getting the two new fenders it should make their job a lot easier......now they just have to deal with the doors and quarters.......here are a couple of pic's.....

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car

The a/c syatem showed up today also.....a sure fit system for Classic Auto Air.....when I called the other day to order it....I asked if I could get a serpentine pulley on the compressor.....the sales guy why I wanted that type of pulley rather that the stock "V" belt....I explained that I was putting in a LS2 from a 06 GTO and I knew I was going to have to play with compressor positioning to make it fit as I knew there were clearance issues and in the end I would be using the serpentine belt....He then asked why I just didn't buy their kit to move the compressor up out of the way and it included brackets, Idler Pulley and a belt that was designed for the GTO set-up.....I said really.....so....I bought it all and my job is getting easier again as I won't have to re-invent the wheel again....So, now the compressor is driven off the main drive belt (stock, it had a seperate belt)
This Project is getting too easy.......Here are some pic's

I also started disassembly of the car....I started under the car getting the engine ready for removal.....only got in a hour or so before the heat and humidity got to me and had to go in and take a nap!!....(It's what old guys do).....While under the car I noticed why when I drove my "Perfect" Survivor car and turned the wheels slightly, I could feel something wasn't right with the steering......Look at the front tire.....LOL....(Previous owner......"This car is perfect mechanically and I would drive it to California".......LOL......My Bad)

Brought the Engine home from the shop today and decided to play with the car a little.....

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03433.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03436.jpg

So......I dig around in the garage and find the Purchased parts for the install........Let's see how this is gonna go.......Adaptor plates and mounts for the LS conversion....

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03438.jpg

Wrapping Paper in the box........Hummmmm!!!....

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03440.jpg

Adaptor Plates and mounts........

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03441.jpg

Blood Pressures going up.......two of the bolts go in and the other two won't start....

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03442.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03444.jpg

Called Trans Dapt/ Hedman Headers and told them about their holes being off....the plates were Laser cut and the holes were off.....Come on guy's, this isn't Rocket Science......Got out the Carbide Burr and elongated the holes ..........Damm!!!

1/2 hour later.....

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03456.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC03452.jpg

got a small jack on the back of the trans.....I was worried about the size of the 4L65E and it fitting in the tunnel....lots of room......I just need to modify the crossmember slightly for the trans mount........Gonna get it mounted and take it apart, going for Media blasting on the 23rd and then off to the body shop........

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car

Spoke too soon yesterday......After getting the engine in place yesterday I only got one bolt thru the motor mount, the other one wouldn't go in......at that point I had had enough, but after coming in and looking at this picture, I noticed that the engine was tipped to one side slightly........I thought I would just have to influence the engine slightly to get the bolt in.....so , today I get the car up on the lift so I can figure out the trans mount.......After getting the trans jacked up and in position, I went to get the second motor mount bolt in.......Darn!!....the engine is sitting on the Oil Pan and not letting the mount come down for the bolt to go thru......Time to re-invent the wheel.......So......I'm gonna have to make some new adaptor plates to move the engine up about a 1/2".......I knew this was going too easy..........But!!!.....It's all part of the process......

Try the bigblock engine pads, they fitted better when I did the swap. I think that they are a little bit thicker than the ones you got from China.
