As a guy who is an "outskirts" forum member who hasn't been to a SCR and does not own muscle cars but is a huge fan and really loves this site I (and a few others) need a bit of filling in. Why because SCW has removed their banner and I assume their sponsorship does that put the SCR in jeopardy? Were they a driving force in organizing the SCR?
The caliber of the members of this forum and the cars they own has always impressed me about his forum. It is truly the best source of muscle car information on the web. Hopefully one fo these days I can get myself to a SCr and meed some of you fellow car guys!!! |

To those who may not know, or remember, some of us have been trying to get Bill Porterfield to match race Mr. Howie at the reunion. Bill doesn't own the car anymore, so it's been a difficult task. Mr. Howie believes that they're avoiding him knowing that he will blow their doors off. I would urge anyone who might know Bill P. to bend his arm a little to try to make this happen. At the end of the day, should this happen, someone will truly be a sissylips.
Now on the topic at hand (hard to imagine I'd ever get off topic) I would sincerly hope that all grievences, and differences could be resolved in a positive manner. To all concerned, life is way to short to hate, or carry harsh feelings. I know everyone involved here, and there isn't a bad person in the lot of you. You've all helped us with what we do, and we consider you all our friends. Put your animosity aside. It's not worth it. Nothing will be gained, and much will be lost.You are better than this, and all of us have much to learn, and room to grow. And none of us will live long enough to know it all. I've been a small town mayor for over twenty years, and been called things to make even you guys blush, and I still don't hate anyone. Hell, sometimes I had it comming. Now if people like Howie, Cumby, and me, who agree on nothing, but still consider each other very, very, good friends can get along, lets look deep, and put this in the past, and move forward together. I've read all of this and I'm still lost??? I hope that SCW comes back! I know I don't own any SuperCars, but it was, and has, been great to see all the works of art and "chat" with all of the people on this site! Tons of knowledge and great people! I know that most of my generation is into the fart pipe mufflers, but I have been hooked to V8 rumble and inline sixes, since I was knee high. I just want to say that I am here for all of the knowledge and to support the hobby with a great bunch of people. The only thing that can take it away is death and alzheimers.

I asked Tom to pull down the site for awhile to make some adjustments to my sponsor page. The page will be a view only page. I will continue to post information and text as in the past. I will not allow the SCW page or any other page for that matter on the sYc site to become a mud slinging battlefield. So I asked Tom to make these simple modifications to that sponsor page. As always, I only post to give useful information we find during the tear-down and restoration of the cars we love. So other than that, no changes are coming.
On a personal note, I want to thank the many people that emailed. PM'ed called etc during the down week. I love the sYc site and what its about. Many of you I have never met, but it does mean a great deal that you enjoy what we try and do for the hobby. One thing for certain, you really find out who your friends are, and find out even more about others. I heard some real good stories, REAL good. I don't have an idea what this is all about. As long as I have a Camaro, Chevelle and/or Nova that needs restored, Brian and Joe will be the restorers...period. The best, the pinnacle, no competition.
