Brad,

I just looked at the pictures of your cars interior....seems like your rubber flooring is produced by ACC. or appears to be the very same product.

Today I picked up the complete all original carb to oil pan 67xxx mile SF coded 1970 455 engine. From what I can see...its never been apart and the few things that are NOT... born with original would be the Belts, Upper Radiator Hose and clamps, Plug Wires, Someone removed the Alternator Pulley and Bolt....Thats it! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Dan;

Cool. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

If you would, please let me know when the carb is on the way in. I was just about to run a batch of steel to the platers so I'll hold off until your carb arrives to get it in with this load.

Thanks again.

I've had gnarlier ones than that to contend with. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Check out the before/after pics in post #9 in this thread over on the Team Camaro site. That was a really rough unit--I had to run it through process something like 3 or 4 times before I was satisfied with the way it turned out; even then some of the steel hardware was so deeply pitted that I advised replacements, but the owner wasn't concerned with that so we went ahead and used them.

Another unbelievable job Eric! I know that Dan's carb will be in good hands! Even though my carb runs and performs great, one of these days I'm going to send it to you so it looks as good as it performs. I'm looking forward to seeing Dan's come back after you've performed your magic on it! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: My newest Project

Thanks guys.

I actually feel kinda bad because I couldn't get the carb to clean up as nice as I wanted it to. If you'll notice the heavy oxidation on the front of the bowl in the "before" pics, after I ran the parts through the cleaning process, that part of the bowl was pretty heavily damaged underneath the oxidation. I wound up having to run the castings through process 3 times before I could get them to take a decent conversion coating. I was afraid of doing more harm than good by making a 4th attempt (the cleaning processes are pretty aggressive) so I stopped there.

Thanks again everybody for all your kind words & support, I appreciate it more than you know.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year everyone.
Eric

Re: My newest Project

An update..... just been gathering parts. Almost have everything except for a few big items. I still need two front fenders, core support, and both rear wheel well moldings. I have almost everything else to complete the car.

Here is how she looks today....I just have to remove the front windshield, rear glass, steering column, brake booster, the doors, the deck lid and off comes the body.

Check out the wheels. I had custom adapters made so I could mount on my NOS Buick Dog Dish caps on my Weld Wheels.

Lookin' good Dan! That's some serious rubber on back! I really like your idea of the Buick caps on Weld wheels. I suppose the wheels could even be painted black and would then look like steelies with caps in place!
