Re: 71 Kingswood Estate LS-5 wagon
The CPD code is for a 365 Hp 71 454 LS-5 used in the Chevelle SS454 , Monte Carlo, Elcamino and the Impala line for 1971 model year and carried over into a part of the 72 production until some point when it was changed to CRW. Back to the wagon its Absolutely the original born with engine, I have the build sheet and the trim plate reads LS-5. My almost new casio camera quit, I will post picts shortly. . Had a blast with it at Carlisle, anyone care to chime in on some of the stories of the Wallyworld wagon. Yes the clamshell tailgate and rear window work perfect!!!!

71 Kingswood Estate LS-5 wagon
You post here says 33,000 miles but the ebay add says 134,000? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: 71 Kingswood Estate LS-5 wagon
I would rather be safe than sorry!!!!! The title says mileage disclosure not required !!! The interior is absolutely beautifull for its age. I can't go on record at this time to verify the mileage as when it came from Utah east the state clicked the mileage box as it does with all cars 15 years and older. You make the call. It was viewed by many at Carlisle and stunned all of them, if it is 134 the owner babied it in a way I havent seen ,if its 34k even the better I'm just going by the the title that I have sell the car with !!!!

Re: 71 Kingswood Estate LS-5 wagon
Chill Jim. I posted the link to help you with the pictures since you said you were having trouble posting them. I noted the two mileage differences and thought you may have made a typo and might want to fix it. Since it was 33 here and 134 on ebay, that may make a difference to some. I am not a buyer and was just trying to help out. Your welcome. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: 71 Kingswood Estate LS-5 wagon
Cool car,
I should know. This 1970 is Mine... http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...0Townsman1.jpg Unfortunately for me, your 71 Kingswood is way too much of a project with my current health and other projects. Any prospective person looking to "restore" one of these ie: a Stationwagon, needs to know, parts availability is non-existant. you need to refurbish all the wagon specific parts and re-use. There is in excess of 50K in Labor Parts and ??? in my wagon, so I was told. I did not do the restoration, we just finished it off. That being said. $7500 is More Than Fair for this 71 Kingswood Estate. AND, Someone will get a Cool Car, and a Good deal. Beats throwing $7500 at a used minivan. Re: 71 Kingswood Estate LS-5 wagon
By the by, I just spent several thousand on touching up the wagons paint for show.
Woodgrain is very difficult, however Check out the http://www.iswc.readywebsites.com It is the Station Wagon Clubs website. Join and place an Ad there, you might get lucky. Good Luck with the sale. |
Re: 71 Kingswood Estate LS-5 wagon
The pictures really dont do it justice. It was garage kept through its life. The wood grain is in very good shape and the trim and chrome very nice dry Utah quality. I know as well I'm in the middle of a Concours Estate resto . The wood will set You back a G easy , thankfully the Kingswood is great there, only paint on each side of it. The interior could use just a fresh carpet in the front , the rest is killer. Fly in and drive it home!!!!!!
