-----Rob,,,If you get a chance, tell me what RPM Tom came out at and what the tires had for air??? How sticky did he get the tires as well??? Sounds as if he didnt get the tires above terra firma and that just about has to happen for a good 60ft. Assuming he shifted at about 7000. Glad he got down OK though.......Bill S

Bill..the old girl did good. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

As Rob said, not the best of conditions, but all and all I am pleased, aeady to go again.

My best run was 6.9167 @ 103.70, with a 1.7060 60'.

First time I tried to leave on the brake, went into 2nd too quick, which made for a terrible pass, so after that I foot braked it. I would say I left somewhere around 2-2500. Felt good, once I had to peddle it as it jumped sideways on the launch. I shifted in the 6-6500 range, (used to the Yellow sub).

There is no doubt there is more in her, will come with time, but needless to say I was just trying to get her down the track and not hurt anything.

My first trip to Chevellebration and had a blast. Lots of great Chevelles, met up with several club members.

Chuck and his staff put on a first class event. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

What's Red Alerts best recorded 1/4 mile E.T. when Bob H. drove it,as well as when Bill S. owned it?

------Bob ran a 10.90 or close when Bob ran legal S/S back in the day. My best time was a 10.08 when I match raced with a 1.40 60 ft. I was probably more proud of the 60 than the ET as it was harder to accomplish with the basicly stock, but tweaked suspension. I have to thank an old California racer by the name of Dick Gazan for the 60s as he really pointed "Red" the right direction. Dont know where Dick is today, but at one time he was a top fuel driver, and he knew a bunch about S/S suspension set-up. Last I heard he was in Texas somewhere.

------Rob,,,Ill have to dig up a few old slips if I can. This old brain forgets what it wants to!!!......Bill S
