Re: Larry Fisette stash to be auctioned
The COPO 427 engine was the original engine to the Yenko that was in the collection.

"he swapped the engines and slipped the cars into the trailers, never to be gazed upon again. Many local car collectors believe the reason why Schlag pulled the engines from his cars and installed a different engine before he put them away was to thwart thieves, since the cars wouldn’t be numbers-matching."
Does anyone know if vin #'s on the engines and transmissions for sale were checked against the cars for sale? Trying to help a friend of a friend who recently purchased the gold LS6 Chevelle. An exhaustive search was done for a build sheet, only to find the hog rings removed where the build sheet would have been! We would like to believe motor, trans, and build sheet is out there somewhere! Any info is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks, Dave |

Thanks, Rick!
I will send a text with the VIN. Thanks, Dave Any thread I can pull to unravel this mystery is greatly appreciated! |
Just seen the recent addition/post to this thread. I was involved with bidding on this collection of parts and made several trips for inspections. Things were very fluid. In the end I had made the highest "verifiable" cash offer...... but had to wait for one more person to fly in on Christmas Eve to view the collection. It was such a large undertaking, I remember thinking who would come in and not only out bid me but meet the parameters of loading and liquidating the collection...................I was out bid by a guy from Maryland, Scott Milestone.
