Don,
I keep going back over those pictures and the more I do the more I appreciate the car. I agree the interior isn't the most appealing but it is what it is (or should I say was?. Great job on keeping such a unique vehicle the way it is for everyone to enjoy. |

What happened to all the 70's custom vans? That's the real question. [/ QUOTE ] Most of them were "family starters" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif, and were traded in shortly for more practical transportation, since they had truck motors that liked gas. The custom van thing was an expensive craze, and went out the same way disco did, quickly and quietly. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif |
Re: What happened to the 70's street freaks??
Personally I liked the interior in the Chevelle. This is what my 68 Nova had in it when I brought it home in 2001. I wish I had left it in the car... I got the correct bench seat and found a NOS bolt of fabric and now it's 100% original again... Nice but I liked the other just as much. Marlins car would look nice with an overstated interior https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
THEN... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../coooolman.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...seats/cool.jpg NOW... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rpanels/b3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rpanels/b2.jpg Tommy https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |

I did not sell it or plan to for a while now. For every 10 people who looked at it 7 thought it was a time capsule and the other 3 thought it was Hideous. Most people loved the paint but everyone hated the interior. So I brought it home and gutted the interior. SHE'S GETTING A MAKEOVER!!! I will post pics of it when im done. Please let me know your thoughts on the finished car! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif [/ QUOTE ] My two cents is I would have left the interior alone. I thinks it is period correct. Would I build a car with that type of interior now...no, but that is the way the ticket back then. It was "boss" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif |
