Alright guys, let me hear your opinion on this Stamp
This is a BENCHMARK car. Everything original but the tires and upper radiator hose http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/richsp/Stamp.jpg |
Re: Survivor LS6
Hard to tell from a pic but the 1 looks like its pretty high on the pad to have been stamped with a holder with the head on especially with the protruding head plug right above it . Pictures do have a way of making things seem not as they are though.

Re: Survivor LS6
I will get that picture too. I have people sending pics of there Original motors that have been hit twice.
The bellhousing bolts and mounts have never been touched.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif So far three calls came in and said its fine !! |
Re: Survivor LS6
I think the deck is stamped with the assy date before the heads are installed so that looks good. As far as the VIN stamp, I had an L-78 block from an 69 Nova that was stamped once, X'd out, and restamped again.

[/ QUOTE ] The engine plant stamp (assembly plant, assembly date and engine code) was done with heads off on big blocks so there would be no head/plug stamping interference. I have seen stamping partially obstructed by the head. The VIN was obviously done with the head on. Small blocks were plant stamped with head installed. |
