Re: Is this a rare AMX
Hense the tongue in cheek comment. I did own a 69 AMX a few years ago and I could see the major differences. Thanks for the additional info.

Kevin Suydam recently added a 1970 AMX 'Big Bad Green' Go-Pac 390 4-speed to his collection. Click here to see pics.

Beautiful car, the interior looks great. Looks like the only thing it needs inside is the correct rim-blow steering wheel. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: Is this a rare AMX
A very nice shadow mask car! I also had a Big Bad Green '70 with shadow mask paint scheme. It was featured in Popular Cars magazine in 1987. What Kevin's car needs is the factory rally pak instrumentation option, I had that as well. It is very rare with an oil/amp and vacum gauge set up in the middle of the dash causing the AMX lettering to be moved farther to the glove box door. This option really completes the instrumentation for the cars. |

Unfortunately, the only thing unique to these Big Bad Green '69 AMX's is that metal plaque. Nothing else. I've owned a lot of '68 thru '70 AMX's, including Big Bad colored cars, I helped document the Breedlove AMX's, Hurst SS AMX's, Donohue Javelins, Trans Am Javelins and so on. These 500 specials are just a very small part of AMC's history and unfortunately didn't include any special performance enhancements or unique exterior schemes beyond the metal plaque. </div></div> Have you ever seen a Droke Brothers car?? They were hired by AMC (68? )and had their own bolt on parts. Hood roll bar etc ?? |
