i think air much like water, can cavitate if the blades were all spaced the same, i think the odd spaced blades move more air?? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

My guess on the spacing would be for reduced vibration or noise levels. The odd spacing would break up beat frequencies caused by the fan turning through still or moving air.

Thanks for the responses. Why do the aftermarket fiberglass and flex fans have equally spaced blades?

Mike [/ QUOTE ] Not sure the spacing makes it quieter..the 69-70 BB Nova fans have the same type of staggered setup..they make a lot of noise!!!....most guys took them off back in the day and installed a flex fan. wilma |
