Re: part numbers/casting numbers for 1968 L36

Parts books appear to be wrong, as both small blocks and big blocks came with 37 amp alt's.

My '68 427 Corvette had a 37 amp alternator too.

Hi Mark:
The manifolds would be 3916178 and 3914613 as the guys stated. Starter 1107365 and the alt 37A 1100693, the 42A was optional on the 67/68 fullsize 1100696.
take care
Joe

The correct alternator is 1100794 per Colvin.

I listed a 178 exhaust manifold without smog a few days ago in the For Sale section with early Dec 67 dates.

What dates are you looking for? I thought Dec 5 or 13 1967 were good dates for your engine.

Re: part numbers/casting numbers for 1968 L36

Hi,
I don't know..are they?
I just thought from my engine build stamp of dec 23 1967,dec 5 or 13 would be too close to be installed..ie: 10 days after casting, but I don't know this to be fact.
My heads are cast sept/oct 67 and my intake is oct 67, so I just figured the exhaust manifolds should be similar, but maybe I'm wrong? I don't have my block nearby but I think it was Nov or Oct?.. If anyone else has any input That is why I posted this to start with, to see if the date ranges are correct on the parts I still require.
Mark.
