Saw this Elco when Fred brought it home, and every step of the way through the restoration. EVERYTHING is new, lots of neat NOS parts purchased throughout the years by the original owner. There are no short cuts taken here. Not your typical "auction " car where nothing works. Fred has this car dialed in. Pictures don't really do it justice, the quality of the paint work, and total restoration really show through in a close up inspection. How many of these have you ever seen with REAL 1-owner paperwork? Will make a substantial quality addition to someone's collection.

Makes me wish I would have kept it, and several other people wish they would have bought it. Awesome job Fred, I knew you would do it up right. LS6 El Camino "Yea"

Great looking El Camino! But...I gotta ask...why do people keep referring to it as a "one owner" when it appears to have had 3?

Hey Mark. Good question and one that I have toiled with over the years. I neither support nor refute this implied definition. But, it seems to have to do with whether you register the car for your own personal use or perhaps it has to do with the length of time you own it. Even our own, Colin, uses this term on some of his cars - see this '71 Plymouth 'cuda 340 or this '70 Boss 302 Mustang currently for sale. For me it is all about due diligence. Just as you scrutinize the "numbers matching" or "original drivetrain" or "original buildsheet", or "documented owner history", you would investigate the "one owner" aspect as well. If you, no kidding, want to be the one that buys the car off of the fellow or gal who originally bought the car back in 197X, it should be obvious to you that, in the case of Colin's 'cuda, that he was either not born or just a wee little tike.

Number of owners registered or not has never had a bearing on me purchasing a car. Example the 67 L78 presently for sale was a one owner when I purchased it, subsequently it has changed hand six times and only 300 miles have been put on the car since(still the same car to me). The key is the originality/pedigree and integrity of the car. Those are the elements I use to purchase a car.

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif Welcome to Collector Car Law 101.
It's 5:00 PM and that means it's time for a new collector car term: Of course class, we will spend the remainder of the semester discussing the definition of the CPAFIOBWOPTASITBNRPII.

"Car Previously Acquired From Its Original Born-With Owner Prior To Any Subsequent Interdicting Transferals Between Non-Registering Possessors In Interest."

Take careful notes, this will be on the final exam...

(BTW, awesome El Camino, nice job on the resto https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif)
