Re: Limerick Classic Cars AKA Rotting Hot Rods!
That '61 is a very low production model. Impala 2-dr Sedan. 'Ol Reliable-I was a Biscayne. Car seems to be in very good shape for a '61. The Impala interior in that body style is also unique, not reproduced at all. That one looks like it could be saved too! Looks like a standard 250hp 348, but for what it's worth, the grille emblem is for a 6cyl.
Thanks for the pics Dog. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif IF you go back there, grab the VIN from the driver's door jam and the cowl tag info (behind the LH inner fender on the firewall).... I'd like to add it to the dbase if possible. By the way, total production of that body style is 1711 6cyl: 4,949 1811 8cyl: 6,770 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gifVerne |
Re: Limerick Classic Cars AKA Rotting Hot Rods!
Sam, Real hard to tell, but the last letter might be a G, indicating 250hp P/G. The valve covers, carb and distributor are all 1958.

Re: Limerick Classic Cars AKA Rotting Hot Rods!

Re: Limerick Classic Cars AKA Rotting Hot Rods!
I need to call him tonight, so I'll ask him. I also need to make another trip up there soon, so I just might be able to check out that '61 in person.

Re: Limerick Classic Cars AKA Rotting Hot Rods!
[b] My son attends The Hill School up in Pottstown and today was the last day, so I was able to make
a stop back here before picking him up. I was lucky today to be able to meet the owner, Glenn Borneman a real nice guy. He was happy to show me around and answer any questions I had. He has owned this lot for quite some time, but has had enough and wants to get out before he is inundated with traffic from the new shopping center being built down the block. He said he will be getting no new cars and hopes to be out by the end of the year. Another Shame!! - Verne was correct, the '61 was originally a 6 cyl car that he put a '58 348 in. It's a B title car that was his teachers car and he has owned it for over 20 years. Its a standard bore 348 all rebuilt with a hi perf cam. The car has big block springs, new front end work and a new exhaust. The air cleaner is in the trunk and he has the 6cyl also. He is asking $13800. - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...35/rot080a.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...435/rot090.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...435/rot093.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...435/rot085.jpg - |
