Heres a 69 Z, in 1972. BB front springs, rear air shocks, because thats how he liked the stance.

Now that its been frame-offed, it still sits on the same springs, and the rally's still dont have rings/caps https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif

Installed the front springs on the bare subframe without any issue, but after the car was together, thought it might have a BB spring. Previous owner confirmed it.

Re: Raised Front End

From the experiences of myself and friends, new springs in general will raise the car the best part of an inch. Our '72 Lemans Sport was supposed to be getting stock replacement springs and it still hasn't settled to where I would like it to be. A friend's big block Chevelle was the same. Perhaps some of the aftemarket handling kits might have springs that give a more accurate ride height. Ours were from a local spring shop.

Nooo....... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

The black steelies are perfect on that car!

All it needs is a set of dog dish caps and to drop the nose just a tad...you'd have the ultimate "sleeper" look. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

That car is so cool its not funny. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Tom--any chance you'd be willing to grab a tape measure and give me the height & width of those Goodyears? I'm thinkin' something like that might look good on my bucket of bolts.

Re: Raised Front End

The car has a BB with a cross ram. I am trying do a day 2 look with it. I want to lift the front end whatever the distance the aluminum spacers did, only using just a spring. The place I called had springs based on ride height not spring length. I know there was a thread on the spacers with pictures, but, still can't find it. I will probably run a 205 or 215.75.14 Redline on the front.

Re: Raised Front End

Those old school knuckle type spacers fit in the coils and you locked them by turning with a ratchet...raised it up about 1/2"....my old 70 had several in each front spring..I think 15" tires will look better with the raised suspension...the perfect 68 to look at is Mark Hassett's 68 Motion car..that was the look I was going for.....car looks like it is ready to pounce..and with that L88...it is!!

Re: Raised Front End

That's the look I want. I'm not talking about those little blocks that screw into the spring. It was a spacer that fit under the spring.
