Did the '70 Z's get the 'GM' branded heater hoses? Always interested to note differences/similarities between the '70 Z and the '70 Yenko's!

Jack S's survivor has the ribbed,so I would assume his are correct. I have been looking at magazine picture, assem manual, service manual and repair manuals to try to figure out what is correct and whats not. I like the GM ones, so on they went. |
Re: Tony's 1970 Z28 Resto Project...
I hear ya, I went through the same process when I was restoring mine - GM marked vs. ribbed. Several of the restored deuces had the GM ones - which I liked, but then I found the Jack S survivor equivalent in the deuce world = they were ribbed. Always learning! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

It was on there when I aquired the car, a 43K mile car from the west coast. Hope this helps. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...n_DSCF0031.jpg |
Re: Tony's 1970 Z28 Resto Project...
Are you refering to your upper rad hose? That is correct. I don't see the GM stamps om your heater hoses.
Ribbed is correct for heater hoses but I also like the GM stamped hoses. I have a set of both and plan on putting the GM stamped hoses on my car. Tony, car is looking awesome. Rick H. |
Re: Tony's 1970 Z28 Resto Project...
Thanks for all the compliments. Means a lot to me, coming from you guys. I am finishing up the air cleaner cover today, then on to the charcol cannister.
Thanks for posting that picture. Do you know if the clamp on the alternator bracket that is holding the hoses is original? The assm manual doesn't show one, and I haven't been able to find one listed in the repro books. Thanks again. |
Re: Tony's 1970 Z28 Resto Project...
Tony,
The heater hose bracket on the alternator is available through GM. I don't have the part number available at the moment. Classic Industries sells their version of the clamp as well. Rick H. |
