Dan,

I have a 72 Chevelle I am considering selling you can see pictures of it in my gallery nice car 402, Turbo 400, 12 bolt, disc brakes, F41, bench seats. Car has a very clean frame and underside minor rust bubble on passenger side right front fender. It would be priced right and would be a great car for day two. P.M. me if interested.

Don, thanks for the offer but something tells me its much steeper than the money I'm willing to pay...

Let me know... but lets be realistic...

How about a Gremlin? Lime Green with Burgundy interior. Non original engine, tranny, but, original 2.01 rear end. Automatic with AM radio. A real sleeper. Not cheap, but, worth the money and effort. Forgot to mention, all the body panels will need to be replaced. How's that for a project? For the serious restorer, no tire kicking, please.

Regards,

Mark

Re: wanted: a project muscle car

Hello Dan,

I'm not much of a regular here but noticed you haven't found the magic "one' yet.... First, I have a question to further my education (and please forgive my ignorance): What the heck is a "Day Two" car????

One of my project cars might be of interest to you, but it's not a 4 speed and might be a bit higher in cost than you want due to what I've spent on it, so maybe it won't be the "one", but you get to decide.

I have an Artesian Turquoise (similar to Mossport Green, don't you think?) 1966 El Camino, 396/325, P/S, P/B, P/G, 12 bolt, dual exhaust, tilt, gauges, knee-knocker, GM dash mounted clock, Ca emissions, POP, Ca black plate, 2 owner car that I bought about 1991. It had 66K California rust-free miles before I disassembled it this year. It also had virtually every "Born With" part down to the blown-out factory rear air shocks, except for the wheels which are old vintage 14 X 7 Torque Thrusts, possibly installed by the dealer when new. The previous owner never drove it on the freeway and never changed a single part (duct tape worked well on the upper radiator hose). He wasn't trying to preserve the car, just a real "thrifty' guy.......
Body is currently off the frame on a dolly and just completed a high quality paint job from bare metal (to original color of course) about a month ago. Factory interior was Fawn but my intent was to go to black (not too late to change back if desired). Engine has been completely machined and rebuilt and is currently getting final assembly. Haven't disassembled the suspension or brakes from the rust-free frame yet.
I didn't really have any intent of selling it but several other project cars of mine were finished at various paint shops at the same time ('66 427/425 roadster, Hemi Cuda, '73 RS/LT/Z28) and the El Camino is bound to be in the back of the line for a while..........

Enough of my jabber..... email me if you have any interest and we can go from there. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and best of luck in your venture.

Charles (aka: hubleyman)
