I spoke with Sherwood yesterday at Maple Grove Raceway. Car was raced about 3 weeks with the L89 and then they yanked it out and installed a new 427 crate engine.

yet another email from someone saying they have the org engine... this time from AZ.(again)
funny in the last 4 years 5 people all claiming to have the org engine. |

Herbies Hugger is a documented L89/M40 out of Dubois PA. I was told the factory L89 didn't last/was taken out within weeks just in time to get the prepped L72 in it.

I see that, Cool car and pics. Point I was making is that Herbie's Hugger is also an L89 but M40 fitting the found engine description above.
How cool would it be to have the original engine to display with the car. |
