[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Ken, It is so odd that you posted this today. I met with the guy that is restoring my CX THM400 and he asked me for the specs on the '69 L/78 ( CX ) torque converter. So I guess I need that information as well. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Steve [/ QUOTE ] Steve.......Those CX Transmission's are'nt worth the effort or cost to rebuild..........LOL.....I'll pay the freight and send core charge money......O.K.????? You can just have the CX. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/ooo.gif What's 6 years of searching for one worth anyway... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif [/ QUOTE ] https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif Ken |
Re: LS-6 Torque Converters
While we are at this, I recently saw a document that covered
the different GM torque converter designs. Did any of you know ( at least according to this document ) that the angled slashes "/" around the perimeter of the converters indicate the applications. According to this document, some slashes are 45 degrees to the right and others are less than 45 degrees. Still others tilt to the left at some set number of degrees. I am going to try to get a copy ( or image ) of this document and post it here. Evidently, the slashes denote SHP vs std vs truck applications. Does this ring a bell for anybody? Buelher?????? |
Re: LS-6 Torque Converters
My tranny guy mentioned that to me when we did some stuff on my 68 yellow car. I think he told me the slashes represent the stall speed and he knew what each one meant. I will followup and get more info.

Re: LS-6 Torque Converters
From my understandings the slashes do in fact represent the stall speed as they dictate the angle of the internal vanes. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
