While out in Arizona/Auctions recently the topic of this very vehicle was being discussed and the term used by the resident Mopar expert on hand was that it was a suspected rebody.(Although he had never seen the car and had no facts to back up his claims!)

This 500 is not a rebody! It has original quarters (some repairs), floors, trunk, extensions, aprons, cowel and most bolt on body panels.

The Vin tag and rivets are original and appear to have never been removed from the dash.

All 4speed and Hemi specific items have no issues and the Dana rear shows no signs of having been replaced.

The secondary vins are in place, legible and not tampered with. The trim tag is a GTS reproduction according to GTS.

Just wanted to set the record straight as this car was being discussed while several members were listening to the unwarranted bashing.

What the car is not is a perfect restoration, if it was the price would reflect it, as done 4 speed 500s are not $150K.

Jim

Evidently there aren't many Mopar enthusiasts on the board. It's pretty common knowledge in Mopar circles that you are indeed correct- 26 4 speed and 103 automatic.

Galen Govier finally made it out to our shop, for a full visual inspection of several Mopar we have. We are still waiting for his report, but he has confirmed that the 500 is authentic and that all VINs are original to this Charger.
