You guy's living under a rock or something??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif L78's with this criteria have hit the 6 figure mark sometime ago. and Z28's in this condition 50k https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif have you seen the latest Z28 sales? Just sold one for 150k where are you looking tell me please i will pay 50 to 60 all day long for a concourse # matching paperwork Z28. NUCH If you are so amazed it hit 77k why were you e mailing us asking for more pictures saying you were a buyer??? trying to copy the details??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif [/ QUOTE ] Classic Muscle, First of all, I did contact you about the Camaro in question as I wanted to know if it was the original CX coded transmission. Also, I asked you to send me more images showing the carburetor, throttle & kickdown linkage. All of which you kindly did. BTW, I was considering purchasing this car. Is that not the normal course of doing business on eBay or elsewhere? And yes, I was amazed at the price simply because as I clearly stated in my initial post, this car showed NO documentation in the auction. That was clearly the only thing I could see missing and just a little strange for a car of this caliber, I thought. Don't take it any other way. If I had something to say, I would have said it. Lastly, as to you question about me "copying details", I don't even know how to respond. I own an original L/78 Hugger Orange 69 Camaro and I can assure you I know a great deal about these cars. My car lost it's original CX THM400 many years ago and I recently acquired another one. I have been doing 10 years of research on my car, so I really don't need to copy yours. But thanks for asking. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif I'd suggest you re-read my initial post as it did not challenge your integrity, just the lack of documentation. It was a valid question. One, I might add, that gets raised by many of us here - often. It appeared to be a very nice car none the less. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif Steve |
Re: Take a look at this reported L/78
Thanks for the reply Steve!
Well if you had looked at the pictures we posted the paperwork pics on the auction and as far as any detailed one's no i will not send them to anyone unless they have a deposit on the car as there are too many internet scams today. I appreciate your interest and i undersatnd you doing research on your car and asking for the kickdown pictures etc.I have no problem with people that need help with their research just let me know thats what you are doing. Thank and good luck with your car!!! |

no i will not send them to anyone unless they have a deposit on the car as there are too many internet scams today. [/ QUOTE ] You're kidding right? There's no way I would ever consider sending a deposit on a car if I did not have the information up front in order to verify that 1) it was a legitimate car and 2) you actually had possession of it. I can use your exact words as the reason: "as there are too many internet scams today." I would suggest you lighten up a bit, as most educated buyers will be asking for this info on any high dollar car in this Caveat Emptor world we live in. As a dealer you should understand that. It is a beautiful car. Maybe it would have hit the six figure mark if the documents had been presented in a readable fashion for a prospective buyer to examine and make an educated decision based upon all the facts. |
Re: Take a look at this reported L/78
Nope not kidding!!! anyone who is interested in any car is always welcome to come and inspect the car and any documentation that a car may or may not carry. Obviously my serious bidders and customers have received what they asked for.If you wouldn't send a deposit for a car that you were wanting to buy to a reputable liscensed dealer then obviously you would not be serious and that dealer would not waste thier time with you!!!
Even Steve got exactly what he requested whether i felt he was a buyer or just doing research he got is request answered within minutes!!! and his pictures and anyone that asked for documentation that was a bidder on the auction got it!!! So implying that because someone does not post all information or detailed pictures of the paperwork makes the car questionable gives people the wrong idea so if you are not a buyer and do not have interest why waste anyone's time https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Too many Guru's and scam artists collecting people's paperwork and #'s for the wrong reasons without hard proof of anything. If you want the paperwork or the info BUY THE CAR!!!!!!! Put your money where your mouth is. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |
Re: Take a look at this reported L/78
I am referring to what YOU said in your own previous reply: "I will not send them to anyone unless they have a deposit on the car as there are too many internet scams today" -That is what I was commenting about, nothing more.
I'm not trying to sound high and mighty but from my experience (about 30 years worth, with musclecars valued far higher than $76K) when someone refuses to send me copies of authenticating documents unless I send them money first -that's is a red flag for fraud. I don't know many people out there that would bother traveling to look at a car if the seller refused to send any basic documentation unless I sent him money first. If you sent the info to the interested bidders that requested it, that's fine. That is a far different position than what you just indicated in your above response. I hope whoever you sent the info to was able to make an educated decision based upon that material. And since the car sold for a price you deem reasonable, it looks like they made a good purchase. |
Re: Take a look at this reported L/78
Well pics were posted of the paperwork and anyone that requested it received it.Sure when you do not know who you are dealing with not sending money is a great practice but when you are dealing with a reputable dealer who welcomes you to come and inspect your purchase a deposit is always required to hold any vehicle with an offer or almost anything for that matter.I have been in business almost 20 years now and have received deposits on every vehicle i have sold so i guess there are people that are willing to do it and we have made 100's of people happy buyers https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif I guess if you don't know anyone who would not put a deposit on a car to hold it before looking at it you have not looked that hard or checked lately hundred's of Muscle car buyers each day do it for a fact!!!

Re: Take a look at this reported L/78
By any chance are you guys the dealer that sold the gold with white painted top COPO Camaro that was at Mecum's auction in St Charles last fall.
|
Re: Take a look at this reported L/78
There is big difference between requesting a deposit to hold a vehicle pending an inspection (a quite normal business practice) and demanding a deposit before you will send any documentation. How about clarifying once and for all, for everyone, which you do? And then we can close this thread.
