Re: Old School Spring Shackles...
Wilma, we would either use air shocks OR shackles - we never needed both. From what I remember, you should be able to clear L60's with air shocks alone, so check and make sure they are functioning properly and are the right shocks for your application. Personally, I never liked the look of shackles on a street car...

Re: Old School Spring Shackles...
I kinda think you are right...tomorrow I will fire up the compressor and get the air pumped up in those shocks...hope they don't blow up!

Re: Old School Spring Shackles...
Do you have the "H" block extensiom on top of the air shocks? They add about 4 more inches. With those you shouldn't need the shackle extensions.

Re: Old School Spring Shackles...
Well, I've had a set on my yellow deuce with air shocks since 71. I see no real reason why you couldn't unless you were useing a high jacker shock. That might get a little severe. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Old School Spring Shackles...
unless you want the look of shackles, why not pull your springs off and have them rearched by a local shop, check out 4x4 or heavy equipment repair shops, most will build you a set of springs or rearch yours. i bought a set of repro 5 leaf springs and had to get them dearched to get the car out of the air.
