All original paint, Z bars, original parts missing, and prettiness aside (I think I can actually smell the mustiness), what a cool day 2 look with the traction bars, and cool stickers. Doesn't get much better than a Tuxedo Black/RS Z. How 'bout a shot of the cowl tag?

I did not take one of the cowl tag... I looked at it and then just never even thought about it again.
Rest assured (I know ya'll won't) the cowl tag is legit and has never been touched, it is a:

711 10 10
04C X33

Well if you watch ebay you recently saw a restored Tuxedo RSZ but an LA car, color change, NOM go to $60K and not meet reserve. I would say this car would fetch $70K restored with a date correct DZ302 being that it is a 10 10 X33. So figure out resto costs backwards from $70k and its worth..... nothing...LOL... I would say it would bring $35K as is if it was put on ebay. Just my opinion and worth just what you all paid for it! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif Oh and if the person buying it backs out send the seller my e-mail: [email protected] https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

That RS Z in tuxedo black with the argent grill looks sooo nice when fresh . Highly desireable color that yo don't see often . That car even NOM is worth 25-30k .

If someone really took their time and cleaned everything by hand over the course of a few months or so, I think that the car could be very presentable. The car in clean, presentable condition would overcome much of the replacement engine loss of value. My theory is that if a car has it's original paint and interior in good condition, chances are that the car was pretty well cared for.

Here is the story as told by the current owner...
The car was bought by the owners father when it was 6 months old. The father passed in the mid 80's and his daughter got the car, it sat for a few years and then the grandfather asked to bring the car to his house (you following? Who's on first? ) and he bagan to drive it this was the early 90's. The car was then parked in the grandfather's basement in 1994 where is sat for the last 12 years. The Grandfather passed away and her uncle told her that the car was hers and to come get it. Which she did 2 weeks ago.

From the looks of the engine compartment and the traction aids, I'd have to say Granddad would have been a pretty interesting guy to hang out with.

Just curious what the last 6 digits of the VIN are. My L78 is an 04C car with serial 634182.

A black RS/Z with what looks like good orig paint for $30k? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
I'd lean much more to the $50k neighborhood even without the orig engine. I think there are a couple of people here that would give that - present company included. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
