Re: ------ ebay up bidding --------
Wonder what they think about me? I use three different accounts, two personal, one business. I buy on one personal account, sell on the other personal account. I both buy and sell on the business account. I use my business computer, my home computer, local library, other librarys when I'm out of town and several friends computers. All with different internet serices. I snipe in the last 3 seconds, I bid early. Only thing I don't do is jack my own auctions. Dont need to. The stuff is either valuable enough and gets enough exposure, or isn't worth anything so it's "good riddance" if it sells for a buck.
Long live the internet auctions! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif |
Re: ------ ebay up bidding --------
It happened to me about five years ago. I called the guy on it, threatened to cancel my bid, and eventually got the parts for my original bid. I clicked on his "Me" icon and read about his parts collecting story and his location. His buddy-bidder had a "Me" icon and a similar story and was in the same city! EBay's great but you gotta' be careful.

Re: ------ ebay up bidding --------
Guys,
Here's one for the https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/stupid.gif category: About a year ago, I was bidding on an early J-8-8 BB exhaust manifold with SMOG ports for my Camaro. It was one of the last pieces I needed. OK, I was the high bidder and I wanted to up my bid in the last 30 minutes. I tried to log in with my regular computer and bid again, but I got that darn "cookies error" eBay is famous for. So, I used my laptop to log in and I picked the wrong username ( I have 3 also ) and I bid against myself and uped my own bid by almost $250. Needless to say, I won the auction, but I was sick. I immediately contacted the seller and told him about my stupid mistake and he graciously agreed to sell me the manifold for my previous bid amount. This saved me $250 and I learned my lesson. I'm more careful now. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif Steve |
