your pics don't work. Here is an example of the early style hockey stripes that extend onto the lower fender extension... "Killer" reference material. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Sorry guys. I'm not sure why they didn't work, but it looks like you have all ready posted some other good examples. My 1969 SS/RS 396 is posted in the members ride section under my username if you want to take a look at it for a few more examples. Jesse

I have pasted a link to my survivor car which has the early (built 9B of 68) extended stripe. If my memory serves me the stripe shortedin Nov of 68. BTW my car has the original paint.

Hi Steve,

Got a question for you. Did you ever take a close-up image
of the D/90 striping detailing the "longer" early version?
The reason I ask is that my car was built 10-D-68 and I
thought the stripes we repainted on were different than what
was originally on the car. No one knew this information
back in 1981. I'm primarily interested in the section from
the 396 emblem down to the bottom, if possible.

Also, what did the deck lid striker plate look like? Was
is painted, or silver Cad plated? I'm really sorry you and
I couldn't hook-up a few years ago when I wanted to get out
on the Island and see this car in person. It would have
put a lot of questions to rest for me. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif

You know, I used to hate this color combination and opted
for what I have: Hugger Orange w/ black vinyl & D90 stripes.
However, as time has gone by, I have become more and more
fond of the HO & white vinyl & D90 stripes. What does that
say? Getting old? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

One other question about this image. This car has the
1/4 louver chrome inserts, so why doesn't it have bright
drip rail molding?

Re: 1969 Hockey Stripe

The striker was installed prior to painting the trunk lid (norwood built), therefore it is body color. Regarding the stripe, I will look for better pics but my car is in a car bag for the winter. The stripe extends an additional 1 inch. I will send you some close ups in the spring. I may bring the car to the All GM/Camaro nationals June 23-25, lets hook up then.

Steve,

This was exactly the scanario we ran into years ago about
the "shake-n-bake bag" and winter storage. When you
finally pulled it out of the bag, you sold it. My timing
was a little off. I hope to see it in person this time.

Lastly, I hope you can locate those images. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Re: 1969 Hockey Stripe

The stripe extended onto the fender ext at least thru mid November of 68. My car has this and the build date was 11B. It had the original paint on it when I purchased it in 1980. 6 cylinder with hockey stripe did not have a break in the stripe for engine designation, only V8's.
