Re: COPO.com Website
What a shame Ed decided to stop certifing copos, if its for his family thats one thing. I hope its not because all of the behind the back BS that goes on. There are certain people in the car arena you cant even talk to unless you have a credit card number ready to give him. Ed would always talk and he would not charge a dime. Thanks Ed and hopefully some day you will change your mind.

Re: COPO.com Website
With the talented builders out there, it is pretty risky business certifying any car these days. You would pretty well have to strip a car to bare metal to have any idea what has been modified and changed. GM of Canada just tells you what options came from the factory with a given VIN. They don't put themselves in the position of verifying the authenticity of a given car. That can be foolhardy from a legal standpoint. Right about now certifications are going to get very thorough and very costly if you can find anyone to do it at all. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Is this the future of our Hobby? Sometimes it makes me want to sell out.... [/ QUOTE ] Why is that, all of a sudden you dont like cars anymore? I really liked the old days much better when you went out and got the car you liked and drove it like you stole it. I still do and have no interest in owning a high priced trailer queen. I can go to shows and look at others who would rather polish there exhaust pipe than to see where ground zero is on the tach. Money is now the driving force and has replaced most of the true enthusiests in all aspects of these cars. |
Re: COPO.com Website
I don't think this will affect the hobby a great deal because I would not buy a car solely on that certification. Maybe he should give his information to the moderators of site so the posted here.

No disrespect but one man doesn't make the hobby. It's the collective interest of everyone involved that makes it what it is. Good luck Ed. Rick H. |
Re: COPO.com Website
Based on what he posted on his website he is doing it for the betterment of his family. Hopefully he can now spend the time he feels he needs with his family. I would also hope he has some exit strategy where his information could still be used by the hobbiest for the continued improvement in documenting SuperCars.
The internet really provides a great resource in researching almost any topic. There are no sole sources of information any longer, the more we share and debate, the more each one of us learns and benefits as a whole. |
Re: COPO.com Website
I think we have all the information in one format or another...we'll see if we can get it posted.
