Re: 69 Camaro dash top paint
Did anyone think that the "anti glare" may have come from the overspray from painting the body first and then painting the dash with the correct low gloss interior paint?

[/ QUOTE ] Nope-the 1969 paint specs specifically list the suede finish for the dash top, rear window trim, speaker and rear defogger grilles. The suede finish can be closely approixmated by spraying a very dry mist over the surface after the color is on. Rattle-can Krylon even works. |
Re: 69 Camaro dash top paint
GM used laquer back then. It dries quickly, and leaves a dull sheen without buffing. William is correct shoot the color base on, then pull back, and dust it on in short bursts.

Re: 69 Camaro dash top paint
I just wondered, because I know when I sanded the top of the dash, that it did have the body color under it on some places. I do actually like the "grainy" surface compared to the flat suede sheen myself!
