That's what I hear. Maybe that's why it didn't happen? Maybe some day people will see the history making race versions of these cars are sometime's more valuable than stock numbers matching trailer queens. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

The Superbird is now on ebay. Up to $250,000 already. What's it going to take to win this car? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

That is one wild car! How many original drag cars still survive? How many survive with as much paper and pictures as this one?

I think the picture of Allen with the car on the trailer is cool! Anyone notice those Mopar Ralley wheels on the trailer? HA... so cool! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

Dan, That's Jack Werst (not Ray Allen) standing next to the car on the trailer. This car was built by Mopar to compete with(Eliminate) Ray Allen's 70 LS6 Chevelle convertible at the 1970 Indy Nationals. The two cars never met in eliminations due to a red light start by Ray Allen prior to meeting Jack Werst. Jack knew his Cheater Bird would never pass a post race tear down, so he also redlighted and loaded the car and left Indy. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Why is that people do this to historical cars https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif. The '66 Hemi Plymouth that beat Jenkins was initially restored to stock. Someone bought it from the guy who restored it and put it back to the way it should of been. The Gyspy T/A Challenger was literally days away from losing its' heritage until the stops was put on restoring it. The new owner didn't realize that it was worth so much more in it's unrestored condition. Here in the very near future I'm going to see the collection owned by Don Fezzel and looking at those old Stock and Super Stock cars wouldn't be the same if they were restored to stock. Can you imagine Strickler's Old Reliable without all the lettering? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
