Did you receive the newer Larger seating area lug nuts?

Here are what originals look like.

I think that the seating area might be a touch larger but not by much. They look very similar to the lug nuts you posted. Is there something wrong with the larger seat lug nuts that I should be aware of?

Re: SS wheel information?

They are just larger, due to the fact that over time, some holes in the rims become oblong with usage.
When you try to use original factory lugs, they go right through the holes.
So the newer fat seat design cures that, although the newer fat seating area can be seen a mile away too..

Re: SS wheel information?

The seat area on the lug nuts I recieved are actually hidden by the nut portion of the lug nut. The seat area is just a little deeper (the tapered area to the bottom of the nut). If I get a chance to take a few pictures I will post them as soon as I can. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Be careful of the repro "deep" caps. I bought a set of these from Ground Up a year or so ago and the ID was too small for the GM "SS" round emblem to fit properly. I sent 'em back and restored an original set. Maybe the die has been fixed, but I doubt it.

I suppose you could cut the emblems down to fit if you're not too picky......

Look at photos of these in some of the seller's catalogs. You can see the "SS" emblem is concave around the edges where it was pushed up due to the tight fit. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif
