Hi Dennis, What I know is the car was sold to a Guy in Meredosia Ill. Which is 6 miles from my father-in-laws. the next owner was Lonnie Dawson ,then Joe Grower ,then Terry Childers Then Bill Porterfield who I bought it from. 4-16-94.

Then it's possible the shots were taken at White Hall. Meredosia is located between Beardstown and White Hall, closer to Brdstn. Lonnie and Jim Dawson were regulars at both strips. In the late '60's/early '70's Jim drove a 427 '69 Camaro sponsored by the "Rod 'n Gun Tavern" in Beardstown. If I remember correctly they ran a used car lot in Meredosia. I think they even had a flatbed hauler like the one in the background. I need to pick some brains locally.

Wel, back in those days there were a few in the area. White Hall, Beardstown, Alton etc.

I grew up in Jerseyville and go to the Jacksonville cruises almost every year.

I am familiar with White Hall, Roodhouse. I recall being in a garage in Roodhouse on the West side of the tracks and he had a front clip of a 69 camaro hanging in it

Sam, I wasn't smart enough to know I was watching history being made!! It was just another weekend at the track having fun. Heck I was At E-Town in 91,92 or 93 when Kenny B Broke the 300 mph barrier. Standing with a camera didn't take a picture then. I was also at Topeka when Chuck E broke the 300 in Funny car, again no picture. The time at topeka John Force had 25,000 up for the first to break the 300 barrier. Force was just before Chuck and sombody on his crew screwed up and they were backed out of staging. Force got out threw his helmet!! And than stood on the line and watched Chuck break the barrier .

Well, You are smart enough to remember all that! I saw Grump run the first 9 second Pro Stock run at Maple Grove. I loved that. The air was perfect that nite. Saw Bob Palmer in Charlie Hills Bad Habit AA/FA Fiat run the first 6 second run in history at the Grove also. WOW, That was unbelievable in the early 70's. That guy was just crazy! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif
