Re: motion chevelle for sale
[ QUOTE ]
I don't much about him but I bet his Attorney has a hell of a good rep. Did you read the disclamer on the car at the bottom? I feel he may have covered it all. perhaps even missing persons known or undiscovered in the future....!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif Pantera [/ QUOTE ] What the heck does this mean: "IN 1986 JOEL ROSEN WAS CONTACTED IN ORDER TO CONFIRM THE AUTHENTICITY OF THIS VEHICLE, AT WHICH TIME THIS VEHICLE WAS STORED AWAY UNTIL 2005 INORDER TO PROTECT THE HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE OF THIS VEHICLE," So in other words they contacted "Joel Rosen" and he did what??? I can say I've contacted the President of the United States but it doesnt mean he spoke to me...or documented that my car is a real car! Maybe he called the Joel Rosen down the street from him who owns the deli in his town and not the real Joel Rosen who ran Motion Perf. |
Re: motion chevelle for sale
I have never seen MSD before the '75 period. I also have abunch of Midwest, Gratiot, Bell catalogs(these were similar to ummit or Jegs) from 1974 and I just looked into their catalogs and no MSD.
Even in the car mags you will not see any refernec to msd in the early '70's but you do starting around 75-76. The only ones are mallory, Accell, Echlin, Du-coil, Judson and several others. Also I was refering to the earlier '70's when this car would have been worked on at motion. |
Re: motion chevelle for sale
As I said above, all I know is what the front of my '02 MSD catalog says, which is "over 30 years", which puts it prior to '72...what the availablity of an MSD unit was like back then I have no idea, but they do show a picture of an old school MSD box and flier...but I checked the Hemmings ad, and it doesn't show a picture of the *claimed* MSD unit, so I couldn't compare...anyone know of any more pictures of this car, prefereably engine bay shots?

Re: motion chevelle for sale
Rob --I never saw any MSD units at Motion at least to '73 and Motion was pushing the PhaseIII even in the '72 catalog.---Like I said maybe he's just calling the PhaseIII box MSD. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif. I picked up my MSD unit from Motion in '89, So I now have a Motion MSD unit--Just an example
Larry my old cd ignition was the Mallory unit--- |

Re: motion chevelle for sale
That car is Absolutly real!! I looked it over for an hour and it has more motion paperwork than i ever seen on a car. The guy who had it bought it 20 years ago at an estate auction for 5000.00. He was hoping to get 50,000 for it and it sold to that dealer for 79,000 plus fees! Its a nice car with 60% original paint with a build sheet. All the original motion parts were in the trunk. Ive been waiting for this guy to sell to see how much he wanted to make on it. It was a great deal. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif

Re: motion chevelle for sale
Stefano: the picture of the old school MSD unit in my catalog shows like an anodized gold one, so maybe? I'll agree with the above, that as far as I knew Joel was a Mallory man or it was just marked "Phase III"...maybe a stretch, but maybe since Joel was a speed shop he got an early example for whatever reason? Long shot, but ya never know!

Re: motion chevelle for sale
