Glad someone bought the car... I had not realized that he actually purchased it after the accident.
Are you going to put it back to Race Trim?

I'm going to save ever square inch of original Hurst Olds I can. It certainly will be race lettered but unlike the last three owners, I'll actually DRIVE this car. I don't know how race-ified the current 455 is...hopefully it's in 11 sec trim already. [ Certainly we know it's fast enough to lose control of!]

If anyone has any info on the car 'pre-roll over' I'd be thrilled if they would share it with me.[[email protected]]

I hope to have posession within the next couple weeks but the car is 'bought and paid for'.
[To say I've been reeeeeeal nice to my buddy at the body shop the last 10 days would be a major under statement]

It is feautured in a 2001 issue of Muscle Car Review, I just looked at the issue this weekend, I will try and post some photos tomorrow.
I heard that the car was wrecked as the result of a broken tie rod end, is this correct?

Re: 68 OLDS H/O

Thanks! As far as the tie rod goes..according to the fella where the car is stored...front suspension on the car is fine...more likely just too much horsepower for the driver.Word is he only drove the car 11 miles during his ownership...

As far as keeping everbody up to date. I plan on posting some pic's when I get the car and I plan on setting up an informal web-site so everybody can check in as the restoration progresses.

I DO have a selfish reason beyond I think it will be a challenging and different project to restore a roll over victim, I want to document for all to see that the car will NOT be a RE-BODY even though that would be obviously the easiest route to go.

All the super-structure/bracing/floors/tub/cowl and frame will be original as will even some of the exterior sheet metal and chrome.

I'll keep you posted...
